We went into a small room and played live. We recorded it through a PA into a computer. Later, we added some singing. Even later, we applied spit and polish to make it sparkle and grunt.

Here are the five tracks that have been the meat and potatoes of our live set over the past year. This is pretty much what we sound like live, warts and all.

Here is ‘Tryals’, our first and last proper EP.

Devices were a ‘mathy noise rock’ band from Pendle, Lancashire. Named after the Device family who were involved in the Pendle Witch Tryals, we took a lot of imagery and feeling from our local history and stories.  

We stopped making music together in late 2017, but wanted to record/document the last songs we wrote (Ruined and Empire 2.0), and the first (HIMAMOW).

As we’re no longer going, and used the last of our band funds for the EP, every penny we get from the donations made to download the EP are going to Pendleside Hospice, who “promote and enhance quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers”.

And while bowing out, we’d like to thank all our friends, partners and family for their time, patience and help with our little band, it’s been a blast. And finally, if you came to any of our gigs or if you download the EP and enjoy it: Thank you.
