For this weeks show we are celebrating 'New Forms', a local record label and collective of artists that have joined forces to create a multi-sensory conceptual home for experimental bass music.  The label focuses on Halftime and the deeper side of Electronic Dance Music with roots in Grime, 140, DNB and Dub. Massive respect to the whole New Forms crew for pushing these underground sounds around Perth and beyond!

I will be playing 30 minute feature mixes from local legends MINDFIELDS, ROBWUN & NEESNU that will be representing the sounds of New Forms on this weeks show.

I will be joined by Ben Casella as he brings you the SMOKESCREEN Selects Segment for the week direct from the UK, back with another selection of Drum & Bass cuts to get you groovin'. I will be closing out the show with a range of downtempo and dub inspired tracks with a classic SMOKSCREEN mix from the vault.

Hailing from Perth, Australia, this producer has become a true force behind the decks and in the studio since the launch of the project in 2019. He is also the founder of Perth label, Sub Era and A&R for 4NCY's //DarkMode imprint and was also a contributor of our recent Reclamation VA that dropped last month!

Earth Frequency Festival, what a time!! It was such an honour to play opening night on the main stage, words cannot describe how grateful I am for this experience and how pivotal performing for the first time here was.

Huge thank you to the organisers and crew who worked so hard to bring this festival to life, and to everyone losing their shit on the dance-floor. After years of cancelled events this is exactly what my soul needed.

Stephen Krutsky, better known by his stage name ‘Krypsis’, co-founder of New Forms, is a key figure in the local Perth music scene. His distinct left field production and variety in bpm makes him a highly sought after act in the events industry, drawing inspirations from grime, drum & bass, techno and hip hop, using elements from each genre to create a diverse and unique sound that gets applied in his tracks and dj sets.

“For this mix I explore some more lower tempo/minimal production influences and selections, I wanted to craft something that started slow, broken and sets the mood whilst slowly progressing and taking structure into harder and heavier hitting beats, hope you all can vibe!”
