@Orographic is a founding member of Bridge Club, Portland's legendary queer daytime party that inspired our patio-centric approach to Occasion Vibration. His DJ sets and art installations are a fixture in the US queer underground scene, playing (and decorating) Honey Soundsystem, Honcho Campout, Gays Hate Techno, Double Scorpio and more. Rob recently made his European debut playing the Genosys stage at Glastonbury.

A Londoner through and through, Arthur Smith, more commonly known as Artwork, is a man who has been a key part of some of the capital’s pivotal music scenes in the last two decades. After a time producing techno under his Grain alias in the 90s, fore-fronting dubstep with Big Apple Records in the early noughties and forming Magnetic Man alongside Skream and Benga in 2007 – Artwork is now busy injecting his character into various parties, festivals and clubs around the globe.

As a longtime friend of the shop, we reached out to Arthur to see if he would be up for contributing a mix to close out 2021. For the occasion, Arthur went above and beyond and the result is a whopping one hour and forty-minute long recording packed with all kinds of rare disco, funk, boogie and house treasures.

Just like the warm up set, playing back-to-back is an artform. There's a delicate balance to strike, an intricate tango of communication that's as much about giving as taking. Most importantly, a successful back-to-back set uplifts the individuality of each artist while staying cohesive.

Enter Kate Doherty and Dave Stuart, two of Sydney's most respected underground spinners, and, quite frankly (but don't tell Frank), a pair of DJs perfectly suited to the B2B tango. 

Boy, it's been while since we've heard James Holden's timeless classic 'A Break In The Clouds' dropped on a floor. That epic tune plus five more hours of delicious house and techno can be enjoyed in all its glory in this wicked B2B set recorded live in October.

When Eats Everything asked me to make him a mix for his Quarantime series it coincided with the weekend that would have been my annual trip to New York City. Every year I play for my house music allies, The Carry Nation who run the the hottest party in NYC. My pilgrimage always orbits around Soul Summit sound system in Fort Green Park, Brooklyn….the home of real house music. It breaks my heart to miss both these essential cultural institutions in the city that gave birth to the sound I have devoted my life to. So to counteract this endless holding pattern of doom we call 2020, I am very happy to present my Quarantime mix, made in honour of the city I love the most. A bunch of vintage cuts on this and loads of new stuff too, also featuring, "Over Back Then" from my forthcoming EP…..Enjoy!
