Pantera tribute song I wrote and recorded around 2009 featuring thinly veiled copies of the Cowboys from Hell intro, the Walk intro riff, a brief "walk on home boy" part from Walk, and drum lines from Primal Concrete Sledge (2 parts) and a drum fill from Regular People. Have fun picking them out! I also wrote the most high-flying solo I could to appease Dimebag so getcha pull!!!

I enjoyed writing a guitar solo a-la-master of puppets over a chord progression I made up when I was a teenager. I still think the solo is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. A fun fact is that the clean guitar starts in mono, then busts open to full stereo when the solo takes to the higher frets (3:16). I also had fun playing kazoo just before that section lol. The intro of the song is actually the clean channel part sped up. There's a lot of layers to the recording and lots of subliminal stuff. At 6:36, for a thinner guitar tone, I mic'ed up and recorded my old straight-jacked, open-back Peavey Bandit 112, the first amp I ever had.

During this song, my neighbours complained of my guitar volume and had to shut it down for the night, but not after I recorded the feedback for the intro lol. At 1:53 I fulfilled my desire to record something horribly out of tune and plinky just before something punchy and metal haha.

Everyone who checked out Threats In Type said this was their favorite song. The intro barrels along like a charging rhinoceros. This one has 4 rhythm tracks per side even before the lead tracks went down. Whenever there was a frequency I wanted to add, I would just use a different guitar amp and add a new track. I love that I had a chance to add in the wakky wakky wah wah at 1:43, something I always wanted to do. Some good thrash at the end!

This is the first attempt at writing and recording my own collection of songs. I was in a tech metal band called Starring Janet Leigh and we didn't do a lot of breakdowns (at least not proper breakdowns) and this was a chance for me to try a couple in my own style. I love the airy fusion chords at 1:46...I never planned for that part to sound so sweet. The riff starting at 2:11 was one I wrote as a teenager, while using a drum machine set to some latin drum pattern - most of the notes are in a 3 over 4 pattern I believe its called. Hope you digs.

Here's a brand new uplifting metal track for Threats In Type, an addition that comes after a six year hiatus due to obligations with my other band VileDriver, and formerly Starring Janet Leigh. This song, Wayside, began forming around 1994 and this is the third recording made of this song as technology evolved. I was forced to play electronic drums on this track as my drum machine stopped working. I truly hope you enjoy it.

Wayside

The abundance of this song was written in my late teens or early twenties. It is a pleasure to bring this to reality. Just like with Wayside, my drum machine has not been repaired and so I recorded the drums on my Roland electronic kit. I played everything on the track as is the case with all Threats In Type songs.
