Back and fresh on the release circuit for 2k18 is Berlin-based Jose Antonio Garcia Soler, better known to his friends and followers by his artistic nom de guerre KID SIMIUS. The KID proudly presents his FLASHBACK EP, a heartwarming monster of a single featuring no-one less than the beloved band outfit KILNAMANA comprised of Enda Gallery and KID SIMIUS' brother Miguel Garcia Soler. With the original version of Flashback KID SIMIUS and KILNAMANA present a tender, yet highly emotional slow jam, a modernistic take on contemporary Future R'n'B and Urban Soul accompanied by epic synth leads, a sparse electronic and surely beatmaker influenced foundation. It's electrifying chorus touches hearts from deep within. On a remix tip for Flashback is NICONE. The German producer who's been stirring up dancefloors throughout the past decade with releases on labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Katermukke and his very own imprint Dantze. His take on Flashback beams us straight to the very center of a buzzing dancefloor, implementing a warm yet hypnotic feel to his musical interpretation whilst sending punters to a next lexel of ecstasy with large scale build-ups and crystalline synth lines. Closing the EP with his remix is KALIPO, a Berlin-based Bavarian known for his complex and intricate take on club music under this moniker as well as for his activities in the highly successful German IndieElectro-staple Frittenbude for more than decade. His rework comes down to a perfect soundtrack to accompany a beautiful sunrise on the dancefloor, catering a detailed menu of multilayered strings, slightly balearic guitars, pumping beats and, of course, the original tunes beautiful vocals spreading nothing but everlasting love whenever played out to a heaving crowd.

Kid Simius - Flashback feat. Kilnamana (Niconé Remix) [Jirafa Records]

beGun from Barcelona lands in Sincopat putting the focus on the Kiribati islands (Pacific Ocean) as the next destination in this particular electronic music journey. This new work presents two tracks whose names, Kuria and Vostok, correspond to the two most remote capitals of the insular complex and also two of the places that are suffering the most from global warming, and may disappear in the coming decades because of the continuous rise in sea level. In the words of the same producer:

"The goal of aiming at that inhospitable place to a musical level is to be able to contribute my part in the awareness of the effects of climate change, because it would be very unfortunate that in 10 years those two songs are still there while the two towns who gave their names have disappeared from the map”.

With this EP, beGun broadens its own musical spectrum without neglecting its recognized and unique creative personality: always elegant, landscaping and porous in the face of ethnic references through the use of local folk instruments combined with complex rhythms, penetrating basses and atmospheres charged of melancholia. For the remixes, AFFKT gives his own vision of Kuria giving it more musicality with thicker and live synths. For the part we welcome the duo Brigado Crew, who offers a more massive Deep House remix but with a breakdown clearly emotional and vibrant.

2019 saw Italian producer Carlo Whale hit a turning point in his career with the release of his debut EP on Berlin based label, @einmusika-recordings. Making an impression with the inaugural release, he reaffirms himself in the Einmusika family as he returns to the label with his new ‘The Future Is Now’ EP.

Developing and honing his craft since 2013, Carlo has been pursuing the boundaries between music, technology and nature. Carlo’s unique production techniques utilise the environment around him as he tempers the emotions of moments in time into expertly crafted Techno.

‘The Future Is Now’ EP further demonstrates his preference for melodically themed peak time club moments. Amid horns and progressive basslines, Carlo builds a spell-binding atmosphere. Pushing forward his love for melody, ‘Lying Eyes’ uses piano synths that grow to build euphoria, meanwhile ‘Glass House’ brings out a more ambient side of the EP.
