It has been some time now since we heard from everyone's favourite New Zealander. Rest assured though that all is well with David, and he is still composing new music. However, some material has been ready for release for quite some time but is held up at the publisher. Meanwhile, David sends us these new greetings from the sphere where ambient and Indian classical music converge. Dig out your Ramayana and float away on a little lotus leaf along the river of souls. ...the sound of the drum is very important. It is the subtle variations in timbre and ever-changing overtones of the drum that allow the shaman to communicate with the spiritual realm. Part of the shaman's training involves learning to hear and interpret a larger range of frequencies than the normal person can. The shaman listens and finds the right tone, the right sound to which the spirits will respond. Through the many tones, pitches, and harmonics of the drum, the shaman communes with the subtle and normally unseen energies of the spirit world, which is the web of life itself.

Electric Night

Volume 2 - Dec 30th

After 20 years of dreaming, I finally decided to take my yoga teacher training, and I did it with my partner Naomi Jason, and one of my favorite teachers, Shiva Rea.  

We trained for 3 weeks at Blue Spirit in Nosara, Costa Rica.

I've been making music for Shiva for almost 20 years, and this was by far the most intimate and rewarding journey of collaboration. 

Enjoy the vibes!  You can hear Shiva teaching in the background, so this is for practice, probably not best for use in class.  I hope to translate these into studio releases this spring :)

In this 4th Volume of Lunar Expressions, I decided to slow things down a bit. We are coming upon the winter months and introspection through these vibrational portals are heightened. Thus I created this set in honor of the final Full Moon of a decade - Synchronistically rising at 12:12 AM EST on 12/12/19. 

I feel honored that I have been able to surround myself locally with such amazing musicians willing to contribute their vocals & instrumentals towards the creation of this set - Alberto Roman, Maya Lemberg, @mia-azani, Scott Buck, @yoelbenyehuda aka TUFOE. In addition to some fine selections from a couple of my favorite labels @heimlichaufsc & @drosssel ⚡️
