@dictateneuro and I were recently tasked with creating the grand finals tiebreaker song for Jaye's One-Key Event (JOKE2), the 1-key osu!mania competition.

BilliumMoto & Dictate - 1KARUGA

This is my first try at making artcore music at 240 BPM! I was really inspired to make a track like this when I first discovered the level 20 tracks in Sound Voltex from artists like MisoilePunch♪, and かねこちはる. To be more specific, the songs Mixxion and Lachryma《Re:Queen’M》heavily influenced what I wanted to do with this song! One of my favorite things about producing at this speed is the compelling rhythms you can get using 1/4 notes and, that's something I've been addicted to as of late! As for the vocals, vally.exe did a superb job writing the spoken parts to match the aesthetic of the track! I'll be sure to collaborate with her again in the future when I have a track with actual singing instead of spoken word similar to what I've been doing with my original tracks. For the album art, I commissioned Vertigris to make something for the song. I gave them a general concept of how I wanted the song to feel and the name of the song then let them design something they felt would fit the aesthetic. I then made the track based off of their design and I couldn't be more happier with the art! Overall, I'm really happy with how everything turned out and I am super excited to make music similar to this track!

I wanted to tell a sort of bleak story with this song based on the concept that "hell is empty" but rather "heaven is empty." I envisioned heaven as a lonely void that needs to be filled. The only true memories of where you came from are lost behind a screen, unable to be reached only observed. The character in the song, Euclid, is calling out to someone (maybe it's you!) to join them. Perhaps someday you'll find the path, but for now all we can do is observe from behind our own screen...

This one was really fun to make! Not only did I end up remixing grode, but I ended up doing my first music collab! 😄

HUGE shoutout to Subpar AKA A-Saph. Not only did she help me with making this song and giving me some advice, but she's also an awesome person and a good friend! Even though it took like 2 months of waiting for her to finish her part (tbh she's been really busy), it was still fun, and it's hilarious knowing that this collab was entirely by accident 🤣 🤣
