"Altered" is a non-distributed mixtape by Erinem.

This entire album was made in just one week. This was not my choice by any means -- as I prefer to take my time with everything, because I'm kind of a hopeless perfectionist. 

At the time of these recordings, I was working with a consultant, who ended up being just another worthless crook. As so many are.  This project was forced to be brought to completion in just one week, at the demand of this consultant. 

I don't know how I managed it, to be honest. But, it's my philosophy that even when something is very, very, hard... it's not ever truly impossible. "Hard, but not impossible" became the running theme of this album, both in process and in product. 

This album was actually written and recorded in the second week of June, 2020. While this consultant made a thousand excuses to me, this album sat on my hard drive and collected dust. It just was never "the right time" or whatever. 

"Altered" was recorded at Loud House Studios in Atlanta Georgia, June 2020. I would not recommend that studio, to be honest with you all. 

However, at the time I wasn't calling the shots for myself, so, things like that tended to be out of my control. The original projects were so badly engineered, it took an engineering genius to sort through it all and re-route everything correctly. 

I have to give a special shout out to *Guy Bartov* the extraordinary, prodigious producer and audio engineer who saved this project, and resurrected it from the state it had been left in. 

I also want to give credit to the album art artist, who did a PERFECT job bringing to life the imagery I had in mind. Her name is Jenn Nolasco, and she's insanely talented. 

This project is a tribute to self reliance, and to lessons learned (even if they have to be learned the hard way). I'm done trusting others to hold my hand and lead me to my destiny. Instead, I've cleaned house and released this project (along with my officially distributed album, "The Gambit") all on my own. 

Even a year later, I'm still glad this album is getting out there. Hard work deserves to see the light of day.
