Summary: Indie pop group Thrift Bakery social distancing for 30 years releases new album “Transcendent” 
The fourth long-playing album by Thrift Bakery called “Transcendent” was released in the midst of Covid-19 on many distribution channels.
The 12-track album features the rap song “Wipe It Away,” recorded long before the pandemic.
Overall, the album has more jangle guitar pop than in the past, now that guitarist Tater Totts has played with the group consistently for several years. The tracks “Science Writer,” and “Elizabeth Holmes” display the group’s roots in the Winston-Salem, N.C., pop scene of the mid-1980s and examine modern science, romance and ethics.

As always Thrift Bakery keeps its other foot in rap and funk with “Wipe It Away” and “Taken by a Pro. “ The latter song was featured on the Bay Area podcast GRM Presents.
Transcendent is melodic, quirky indie pop with dashes of hip hop.
