Composer Viktor says following about the song: “Most of our current songs were made before the band started, and this is one of the oldest. It may seem quite odd to choose a song with so many different time signatures as a single, but I’ve always felt that it has a groove that gets stuck in your head. I remember showing this song to the other guys and short after Anton sent me a video in which he played the chorus with one of the quite unusual drum beats. It was a great feeling to hear it come to life after so many years. I also think Manfred has done a great job with both the vocals and the production overall. It has come a long way from just being ideas my head.”

Malicious Minds

10 years prior to their first release, the three gentlemen met in a music school on the idyllic Swedish countryside, studying the weirdly different subjects of classical piano, jazz drums and music production, respectively. They early found out that they had strange stuff in common, like the enjoyment of nerdy deep music theory humor and… Well, that’s mostly it. I mean, is it not hilarious to hum a minor seventh note at the end of every live classical choir’s piece, where there really shouldn’t be one? Okay maybe not. But that’s what they did, and the Gods smiled. Oh, and they also just happened to each have the same ‘80s German synth band T-shirt and took that as a sign from above. A union was created. 10 years later, Thriving Malice was brought to life and songs started to be released into the wild cyberspace for you to enjoy.
