One is a song about unity, and coming together as a people. It has a militant edge and thought provoking lyrics. I like to write lyrics that make people think and if we can affect even one person in a positive way than we've done what we set out to do.

I like how we use our band as a platform to expose issues that many would rather push aside.  As a band, Thrive is passionate about environmental issues. Kenneth and I are from the woods, so we have an intimate relationship with nature. This is the first track we co-wrote since "So Beautiful" (Gratitude Attitude) it feels good to be releasing music that has a deep meaning behind it.

Better Day is about hope. It's about not giving up in the darkest of times. People are too concerned with themselves and their material things. Often times, they don't see the beauty and magic around them, so this song is meant to uplift.

Listen is  a story about overcoming.  There are so many obstacles in life that we face, and they can be overwhelming. Sometimes all we need to do is put one foot in front of the other and keep moving. There's not a creature alive on this beautiful planet that doesn't come to the point of realization that in order to progress, moves need to be made. I came to that very realization which inspired this tune.

A pretty self explanitory song about a love for a beautiful woman and interactions with her. Love is a very natural thing to write about and inspires me. Originally more of an RnB tune. Our Co-Producer Brad Watanabe of The Green took it in more of a Electronic direction, which we all really liked.

The Gift features singer/songwriter Trevor Young who is also SOJA's lead guitarist/backup vox. This track is about the gift of life and how lucky we are to be alive.  Sometimes in the tornado of life we lose sight of the value in our own existence.
