The first track written by the band. Inspired by the fact that women today are constantly objectified, Annette decided it was time to speak out, rise up and be the voice for women over all. Being emotionally driven, the lyrics are very deep and to quote Annette herself "It's really opening yourself up to people who know you and don't know you, like wearing your heart on your sleeve which leaves it to be stomped on which is the scary part....but I don't know how else to write so I guess I'm putting myself out there...!"

Formed in 2010, Detroit hard rock band, 'Through Our Eyes’ focus has remained the same; create music that is honest, real, and from the heart. After spending the better part of four years writing, recording, and performing with local and national acts, Through Our Eyes released their debut album, “Welcome to Life” in December 2014.

Through Our Eyes is fronted by blue-haired, female powerhouse vocalist, Annette Bilek, who brings to the stage a unique mix of beautiful harmonies and blood curdling screams. Inspired by life, she uses her personal poetry journal for lyrical inspiration. Annette is supported by her band mates Mark Bilek (guitar & vocals) & Steve Braun (guitar); all inspired by hard rock and heavy metal at a very early age and they inevitably bring that edge to the band with killer guitar, riffs and heart pounding bass.
