Motherfucking Goddaamn Orange Peel Beef!

One of my most dear and closest friends, Irene Meza-Herrig, tragically died on Sunday March 7th, 2021 in a devastating motorcycle crash in Southern California while riding home to her wife from Tucson, AZ to Vista, CA. She leaves behind her loving wife & life partner, Bev, her daughter Veronica, her son Randy, and her four sisters as well as many more family members, grandchildren and an infinite number of friends including the sisters she rode with in her MC, The Chrome Divas of Oceanside. 

Deeply affected by this loss, I wrote down the lyrics and melody of this song, Going Home on Tuesday, March 9th. The following day on the 10th, I did something I had never been before. I turned those lyrics and melody into a recorded song using my new digital software program. I then contacted a local recording studio and professionally recorded the vocals on 3/22/21. 

It is my sincere hope that this song will bring healing to all those who are suffering whenever they hear it. Irene is home. She is home in our thoughts, in our memories, in our hearts and wherever she needs to be right now. She is not gone. She is our angel untethered riding through the endless skies forever!

There is really no way to measure the loss and the pain we feel with the loss of Irene. Without any argument, to know her was to love her. She was indeed one of the most kind & loving humans and I know that those who had the privilege of knowing & loving her have nothing but the best of memories. I pray that all those impacted by this loss find comfort in those memories and in the numerous photos of her adventures & life with us and in this song, my gift to all of you.
