So it's time to pop the 🍾 and tell you about my second vocal EP, Congrats, You Crazy Kids! Coming out on February 5, 2021. The EP follows a Wedding Singer down on his luck in the days of a pandemic. Today I am releasing the first song - “One Man Wedding Band” for your listening pleasure. 

Wait a minute - what? A wedding singer? That’s not even your job! Keen observation, dear reader. Keen indeed. Since I know you have many other questions, I figured I’d answer them right here:

Is this like the Cheech & Chong wedding album? Not quite. 

Are YOU getting married? There are no plans currently at this time. 

Is this a serious project? You betcha

February 5th is my girlfriend’s birthday and we’re currently in the stressful business of buying our first shared house together. Since her birthday coincidentally happens to fall on the first Bandcamp Friday of the year, I knew I had to whip up something special mostly for her, but also for you dear reader. 

What blossomed from all of this madness was a 5 song EP about the lack of wedding singing at weddings from the perspective of a wedding singer. A lot of the most memorable nights my girlfriend and I have had were at our friend’s and family’s weddings. So I decided to sprinkle some of those memories into songs and write about them a little differently. With the last EP, I was rocking the Robby Hart hair so The Wedding Singer definitely influenced these songs in one way or another having those things in mind. These songs are a lot faster and more punk than last time and I had a lot of fun experimenting and shifting into heavier territory. After this EP, I’ll be releasing a 2 song EP but then will be shifting my focus on a project that you’ll hear more about in the coming months. Please let me know how you feel about the song. I’ve spent the past year and a half trying to figure out what this so-called sound I want is and I think this is the closest I’ve gotten so far.

One-Man Wedding Band

Welcome to stage II. This is the bizarre world of TH Speedball. No seat required. From instrumental albums to Halloween albums in 2020, I thought I had done it all. Turns out 2021 had other things in mind. Enter: Congrats, You Crazy Kids!, an album about *checks notes* being a wedding singer in a pandemic. You heard that right. This EP is about a wedding singer down on his luck living his best life the only way he knows how given the circumstances.

'Wedding Plandemic' is an intense introduction reminiscent of early 80s punk ala Naked Raygun and Billy Idol. The album then goes to noisespa pop territory on the ever so catchy 'One-Man Wedding Band'. We take a detour through a pop banger, 'Days Are Good', and finally end on an epic closer about living your life for you because that's whose life it is, duh! it's a song called 'Sleepless Nights and It closes out this short & sweet EP.

I had a lot of fun making these songs and I wanted to make something closer to the direction I want to go in but also make it lighthearted. I really hope you find some kinda fun in these songs. With Valentine's Day coming up some of these songs may remind you of the best days of your lives. Please enjoy this record driving around or with friends and cold beverages.
