My cover of the Decemberists "The Engine Driver," from the 2005 album Picaresque.

I wanted to do something a little different, so instead of the usual battery of multi-tracked guitars, synths, and Logic Pro vocal processing, I decided to make this one just a stripped-down, single-track, one-take cover, with only my voice and acoustic guitar, recorded into a single mic. I did add a little compressor and reverb just to punch it up a little bit, but that's all. It's definitely not perfect, and the tempo's all over the map, but it's fun sometimes just to play and sing, and not "produce."
