The Icelandic house output 66 degrees are at it again with a compilation of local house anthems.
It begins with Sequential Dub by Ozy. As the name suggests, it’s dubby , deep and groovy. It first saw release on Ben Sims’s label Native back in 2002, but now is finally again available on plastic. It is followed by Pipeline by Sanasol. It’s a dark and hard-hitting postmidnight anthem. Well designed to create a havoc on the dancefloor. On the flipside we have Atomox by OZ Artists, an atomic tech- house with atmospheric chords and vocal samples. It’s a perfect after-hours house anthem.Lastly, we have Cherry Bon Bon by the local misfit Terry Cummingz. It’s an ode to the 90s classic Chicago house anthems. It’s soulful and hypnotic a travel back to more simpler times.
This is the thirteenth release on 66 degrees, which has returned from a 20-year hiatus and is this the second release within a short period 
of time – hopefully an indicator that the label is back with a vengeance.

I am very pleased how this recording has turned out, honing in on some deep electro and techno vibes soaked in lush tones, emotive vibrations and a dollop of verdant wonkiness.   As heads and collectors we are spoiled by the abundance of labels and producers releasing great music in recent times.   It was tough narrowing down tracks for this set and finding some room for one or two old classics.  Enjoy!
