Seclusiasis, the label run by Philly grime lords Starkey and Dev79, went by one rule alone when gathering selections for it's freshly released comp: Keep the tracks at 160bpm. The far reaches of juke heeded their call and the result is an impressive collation of tracks from all over the world.

Following up the fiery 160 compilation, Seclusiasis continues to push forward the up-tempo sounds of footwork with the frantic yet melodic, Roland Is My Co-Pilot, the debut solo EP from 160 alum, Darren Keen. Inventive, whimsical and downright bangin’ – the 4 songs that make up Roland Is My Co-Pilot deliver a unique sound from this burgeoning producer. 

Darren Keen Is a one man beat wizard, who recently relocated from the cornfields of his native Omaha, Nebraska to the asphalt web of Brooklyn, New York.  After 12 years of touring and releasing music in various projects, earlier this year Darren released a split EP with Machine Girl on Them Flavors. That split EP caught the ear of the Seclusiasis crew, all of who were especially impressed that this was Darren’s first foray into bass and footwork territory. That EP also featured a sneak peek at Darren’s “Higher” as remixed by juke stalwart DJ Earl (Tek Life). The original of “Higher” and three more distinctive up-tempo gems debut now on Roland is My Co-Pilot. 

Darren’s fresh sound has been gaining praise from Thump, XLR8R, Big Shot Magazine, FACT, among others, and with Roland, more is sure to follow. Seclusiasis is proud to release the debut from this up-and-coming producer.

Spanish footwork dons BSN Posse come through to flip “One Beat” into a hot mess of pure auditory excitement. It’s minimalistic with a full-bodied feel. A frenetic broken beat slices through choppy vocals, ethereal pads and blazing-hot synth stabs. BSN Posse are always on their game.
