"Three years ago, Harley & myself met in his bed room studio for the very first time. This track was actually an idea from that very session.

Today we find ourselves back at home, together, after many months on the road from our various projects. 
Our core focus to finalise our forthcoming Singles, it feels symbolic that three years on we find ourselves coming full circle to finish this same song we started that very first day.

We reflect on how much has changed & how much is still the same. From my 9-5 desk job to now writing music & DJing around the globe. From his bed room ambitions to being the forefront of dance music subculture. We're still two young dudes, that love the ocean, hanging with our friends in the city we've grown up in & hunting for things that inspire us.

While dubstep and reggae might not be the most obvious sounds to meld together, Borgore and Barrington Levy have proven it’s an unlikely perfect pairing on their new collaboration “Blast Ya.”  

""Blast Ya" is a three-dimensional futuristic record,” Barrington explains. “Dancehall meets an authentic dubplate style that collides into EDM; it's raw but an organic sound!"

Borgore is no stranger to using shock factor to wow his fans, but he pushes the boundaries of electronic music in a whole new way by teaming up with the reggae legend. Bursting with raw, primitive rhythm, “Blast Ya” fuses the best of both dubstep and reggae into one explosive package. Barrington Levy’s music soundtracked Borgore’s adolescence, and the artistic chemistry between the two producers couldn’t be more evident in the vibrancy of their first collaboration.  This forward-thinking release once again proves Borgore’s prowess as an artist who consistently pushes for deft versatility.

"Barrington Levy was one of my favorite artists as a kid,” Borgore offers. “Young Asaf Borger would have never dreamed I would be able to work with such a legend while also pushing the boundaries of electronic music.”

A genre-bending collaboration isn’t all that the dubstep legend has up his sleeve; Borgore will descend upon two of America’s biggest nightlife markets as well as the international festival circuit this summer. This week he kicked off his label Buygore’s new weekly party series “Still Lit” at Sound Nightclub in LA, and he’ll continue booting up at SLS’ Foxtail Club and pool in Las Vegas for his annual residency. In June Buygore will curate its first-ever festival stage at Escapade in Canada, and Borgore will stay busy with globe-trotting festival performances in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany Austria and Hungary to name a few.

"Currently putting the final touches on their 2nd EP, Sydney duo What So Not are teasing us with new sounds by uploaded a previously un-realised remix of Kimbra, A-Trak & Mark Foster’s collaborative track, ‘Warrior’.

Made up of Flume and Emoh Instead, What So Not are getting a lot of global hype via their remixes of Van She, Major Lazer and Parachute Youth.

Their ‘Warrior’ remix sits at around 110 bpms, blurring between trap, dubstep and moobahton sounds. The song heaves with bass, while still highlighting the infectious Kimbra and Foster topline patterns. Oh and the drop? Dope.  

Touring the country earlier this year as part of the National House Party tour alongside Deacon Rose, Beni, Flume (live) and myself, I can personally back their hype.
