This tune was the B-Side to Balloo’s ‘Bear Necessites’ and follows on the story of the prickly pear, which turned out to be a peyote cactus. Feel the disturbing darkness build as Baloo’s trip turns a little sour as he slowly realises he’s a bear, he can sing and talk, he is alone and his massive cartoon paws are in fact massive cartoon paws. Mercifully the tune ends before he can viciously turn on Mowgli, his cartoon handlers are able to feed him more ketamine ants (you’re gonna love the way they tickle) to allow him to get through the scene with the dancing bananas and the singing monkeys. Phew!

The second edition of the Rose Records limited 10" series comes courtesy of Junktion, whose releases on the likes of Outplay and Slow Town didn't only sell out at breakneck speed but also established him as one of Holland's biggest talents in discerning deephouse/disco circles.

Junktion does what he does best on this delightful little platter. The lolloping 'Running for Whatever' on the A is as infectious as they come, with loads of clever samples arranged over classy rolling drums and a deep, rubbery bassline. Flip over for Pale Blue Dot, a slightly tougher, trippier uptempo workout with spaced out pads, big drums, crisp hats and massive synth stabs that should whip up a real frenzy in a packed club. Killer pair of tunes from a producer that's very much on top of his game.

A vast array of digital and vinyl releases under his belt, Stimmhalt AKA David Gvaberidze makes a fine addition to the Rebellion roster. Dreams provides an excellent demonstration of his ability to combine the hard-hitting basslines with uplifting chords, an ideal early hours soundtrack. On the remix, Pezzner has bought his exceptional composition skills to the table to create a bouncy acompaniament to the original.
 
Inspired by his first performance at Burning Man back in 2015, David explains “...my music now is based on deep, spiritual and ethnic music.” Taking his influence from a range of genres including Asian, Arabic and Georgian folk music, Stimmhalt is not your average electronic artist. 
 
Having previously released on Underyourskin Records and L’enfent Terrible among others, Stimmhalt the man himself remains enigmatic, known purely for his artistic talent. A child of the juke and footwork scenes in Classic’s second home across the pond, Chrissy is one of Chicago’s current best exports. An authority on genres as disparate as disco and ghetto house, Chrissy has been hailed “one of the best DJs to walk the earth” by The Black Madonna and we tend to agree. Nothing short of a straight party-starter and dancefloor jammer, ‘Back In Time’ explores vocal territory with help from Miles Bonny along with a more direct remix from Bristol producer/musician Crackazat.

Having come out with one of our favorite records from earlier this year (Paso's Limited Perception), FINA Records are back just a couple months later with another phenomenal release! This time around, label owner Simon Morell has decided to combine forces of two Parisian powerhouses like some sort of mad scientist. The Parisian powerhouses we speak of are none other than the promising lads Armless Kid and Tour-Maubourg, who have been at the forefront of the underground house scene with respective releases on Luke Solomon’s Classic Music Company and Folamour's FHUO label.

To be honest, we did not know what to expect when we heard the two were coming out with their Espace X EP. Both artists have stylistic tendencies that put them on opposite sides of the spectrum between no-nonsense house and jazz-tinged beats. Fortunately for everyone, this experiment seems to have worked. The EP consists of a total of three tracks - two of which feature both artists.

However, our favorite original from the EP  is a full-length track solely produced by Armless Kid. A balls-to-the-wall groover from beginning to end, "The Rebirth" is a certified DJ weapon that is guaranteed to energize any dancefloor where it's played. Never allowing the upbeat nature of the tune to divulge into a heartless drone of 4/4 beats, Armless Kid does a stellar job of layering soulful vocals throughout the piece to give it "that extra morsel of quality" that comes to define each and every FINA release!
