In its 8th release dsrptv rec welcomes the producer and musician from Santa Catarina Kika Deeke. The artist brings her characteristic identity between organic and synthetic to the Céu Aberto EP release. Featuring two original tracks, “Céu Aberto” and “Água Salgada”, the first one with Inácio on vocals, the piece also features two remixes signed by Cauana and another by the label itself.
The salty breeze evaporates through the sun heat and carries a soft and harmonic freshness. Céu Aberto prints solar and vivid textures to the sound of Inácio's welcoming voice, leading the verses along with the artist's organic timbres and arrangements.
For “Água Salgada”, Kika builds a soft and summertime atmosphere in a multi-sensory experience connecting textures that echo between the movement of the sea and the sound of birds, presenting analog instruments that illustrate the feeling of a warm evening.
For the remixes, Cauana brings the essence of “Céu Aberto” in a dark, enigmatic and experimental atmosphere. In the dsrptv rec version of “Céu Aberto”, the label bets on a percussive instrumental reinterpretation guided by the drum groove that surrounds the dancing atmosphere of the original song

@fatnotronic is a duo from São Paulo that works with brazilian disco music from the 70s and the 80s. On THUMP Brazil, the "Fatnopalooza" series will set the countdown untill Fatnotronic's DJ set at Lollapalooza Brazil, on March 29th. Every friday this month they'll release a different edit from some of the biggest brazilian singers to ever exist. This is the second Fatnopalooza edit, "Vem Dançar", honors Dudu França, a Brazilian disco music kink.

Up next on Phonica Premieres is a seriously groovy cut from International Soleil Band off the new Soundway 12".  Ta Lassa is an '80s West African Disco crossover from the International Soleil band straight outta Guinea. Composed by Gnamakoron Sidi Diabaté it was originally featured on an album released in 1983 by French Warners offshoot WAM (West African Music) - a short lived label that recorded about 20 releases of West African music released in France. Also Featuring Mory Djely Kouyate this track was a staple of the 22 band's repertoire in the 1970s (in which many of the ISB played) - famous for their recordings on the legendary state-run Editions Syliphone label. We've decided to premiere the extended (DJ friendly) Hide & Smile edit on the A side. There's throbbing bass and keyboard interplay punctuated by classic Guinee guitar lines, metronomic drumming and 80s synth sweeps eventually drops into a more recognisable Guinean vocal outing. 'Nyako' is 7th vinyl release at On the Corner and it's a big one. South African producer 'Behr' created 'Nyako' together with Makadem during a Santuri Safari session at Sondeka Festival in Kenya. 
The E.P is 4 cuts that build in brilliance from the original which has extremely broad appeal. Indian producer 'Daisho' delivers a straight ahead 4 x 4 house groover, south-London production duo Modified Man swing their analogue machines into action for a heady synth adventure, which is just a bit broken. Berlin-based duo of Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad (Hans Reuschl) are the ideal pairing to merge technology and tradition together as AFRICAINE808 bring up the rear with a balearic sensation to round off the EP. 
Makadem is a talented musician and vibrant performing artist from Kenya. He's a figurehead of the Benga scene in Nairobi. His stage presence and powerful vocal delivery, had him likened to the legendary Fela Kuti. Makadem innovates by bringing traditional African instrumentation, story telling and contemporary production methods together.

The city was a hotbed of creativity and hypnotic colour. People danced triumphantly at the turn of the century, all evil was cast aside and happiness would conquer one and all... but only for the weekend. In the streets bright outfits were out proudly upon display for all of the world to see. Blistering shades of yellow, red, green, blue and beyond were masquerading for as far as the naked eye could see. The roar of trumpets filled the air as the horns began to play.
