Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

On it are five different but equally solid tracks worthy of your attention. ‘Tooman’ is typical of Ukrainian Yate’s minimal and groovy style. ‘The Story Behind Everything’ is a quality minimal track produced by a very talented Romanian producer who decided to take the alias nSd. In the end it's not that important to know WHO it is because his music speaks for itself. ‘Machinebag’ is made by Dani Casarano and Felipe Valenzuela; this one is techno for the dance floor. ‘Safari’ by me is that rare moment when I am interested to make something in the studio. I was very much supported to bring this track out by Nikolay Bogomolov, actually a young drum and bass producer from the Ukrainian city Dniepropetrovsk. A special thing about the track is its mix of techno and bass sounds. And finally, a key track of this release, the one so many of you were waiting for, ‘Journeyman’ produced by the previously unknown and youngest music maker on my label, Matteo Papachiolli, featuring the deep, sexy voice of Rich Medina. Based in St. Petersburg, Nocow is undoubtedly one of Russian electronic music’s most remarkable protagonists having released on Clone, Figure, Fauxpas Musik, Gost Zvuk and Styrax. Recognised for maintaining consistency whilst traversing various sub-genres, Nocow is as comfortable producing intricate IDM and robust techno as he is calm ambient and melancholic electronica.

In ‘Soul Connection’ a spoken word vocal mutters over metallic percussion and ominous stabs whilst a dense pad washes over everything. An undulating synth and ethereal effects make up ‘Disappear’ before moving onto syncopated drums and shadowy atmospherics in ‘Samaya Dolgaya Noch’. Next up, ‘Stop’ is comprised of mesmerising melodies, sturdy kicks and a looped vox until Nocow concludes the package with a short 2-step cut titled ‘Aesthetic Mind’.

German duo Monkey Safari have finally released their powerful debut album ‘Odyssey’ after years of touring around the world’s dance floors. Now, the group have followed up with not one, not two, but three remix EPs and Mixmag has grabbed hold of Tensnake’s take on the title track. Tensnake explained that his take was inspired by the track’s vocals, which led him to take a 90s, industrial vibe. Odyssey’s second remix EP is out July 13th.

Hot off the heels of Aluxes, his 2018 @LumiereNoireRecords debut EP,  Mexican DJ/producer @InigoVontier takes Chloé's label on a trip to the far corners of the body and mind with an album of demented grooves, psychedelic take-offs and imaginary comic strips of mystical rituals.

In the Jalisco native’s own words  "this album best reflects my own vision and spirituality, and the way I feel it". Whether contemplative or frenetic, the collection of tracks that make up El Hijo Del Maiz takes the kitchen sink and throws it out the window: languid rhythms, haunted vocals, and mysterious percussion fuel a discombobulated house set that scrambles the listener's five senses, leaving one disoriented and exposed to the vagaries of vertigo.

None more so, than in 'Bo Ni Ke' where Middle Eastern accents meet Japanese-influenced vocal trickery and Moroccan flutes à la Jajouka transform into a feverish trance.
