Mixtapes have always been a massive part of me as an artist. When I play a live DJ set it’s usually peak time and I cater the music for the dance floor. When I make a mixtape you get the whole of me. 

For me it’s about going on a journey...  Exploring music, the tiny details, the intricate mixing, you can put your style across in a completely unique and personal way and I love that. 

I spent days searching for the beats to include in this mix. It was important for me to use a wide range of music from new and unheard exclusives, current tracks, older tracks as well as some classics that both influenced me through the years and that I still drop in sets today to great effect. Music really is timeless and I wanted this mix to be exactly that.

This Essential Mix is a full representation of my sound and style at this time in my career and was an absolute honour to make.

Its crazy how much time has passed buy but i love it! .. i took time off of making music to reconnect with a sound and style that has been with me through out my studio production and even state of mind ...that witch is "JUNGLE MUSIC" 
i discovered it in the mid 90s and it changed my whole life. it wasn't like any thing else out there but it was all of it in one cooking pot but faster I WAS SOOO HOOKED! this music literally jumped off my career as a dj / Producer.preety much making me who i am today.
in this mix i decided to go back to the vaults and pull out the old VINYL records, 2 turntables and mixer and mix the music the music the way i usto0! i hope all the youth out there will take the time to listen to this historical part of BASS MUSIC if is wasen't for this style we wouldn't  have drum n bass/nuro/dubstep/bass house & i would even say juke.and to be honest when i first heard moombahton it really remembered me of jungle music  but just slower..... so yea im like a time traveler jumping in and out of time lines invading the new sounds with my UFO! shit ... it all got started with this JUNGLE SOUND ! big ups to the UK crew for inventing such a great style of music this is my tribute !

This was one of the biggest deals of my DJ life. Being asked by the legendary BBC Radio 1, to show off your best mixing to the Drum & bass world, is every Junglist's dream. I like to think of myself as musical storyteller,  and this may be one of my finest-told stories to date. We're in such an crazy world-time-place right now, and I feel like I was able to time-capsule all this insanity,  plus a healthy dose of personal narrative, into one realllllly short set. At first I tried to channel my inner Doc Scott/Andy C/ Alix Perez but then I said FUCK IT JUST CHANNEL YOU.

Inspired by the classic albums and mixes from DJ legend LTJ Bukem and more than a decade in the making, “Heavy Breathing” is Dieselboy’s full-length all liquid drum and bass magnum opus and a love letter to the form. This stunning 130 minute / 108 track mix was curated from thousands of tunes he has collected for this project since the early 2000s, and painstaking care and attention was given to weaving a tight tapestry of double and triple drops plus multiple layers of edits, loops and samples in order to bring this creation to life. Designed for use as both a subtle background soundtrack as well as loud sessions when good vibes are desired, “Heavy Breathing” will pull you on an inner journey through deep waves of soul, funk, disco, rhythm, blues and lush ambience.
