„Na gut, rein ins Bett mit euch. Eine Geschichte noch.
Also, es war einmal in einer grossen, grossen Stadt namens Wien. Dort lebten zwei junge Männer namens „Pischinger“ und „Dermota“.

„Das sind aber komische Namen.“

Pischinger und Dermota waren sehr beliebt in der Partyszene von Wien, da diese sehr gerne Musik produzierten und die beiden nichts mehr liebten, als Leute zum Tanzen zu bringen. Sie waren nämlich Diskjockeys.

„Waaaaass?“

„Ja Kinder, Diskjockeys. Die legen auf und machen Musik. Die beiden lernten sich durch puren Zufall in einem Lokal namens „Camera Club“ kennen, einem der ältesten und eingesessensten Gaststätten von Wien. Sie haben an diesem Abend das erste Mal gemeinsam gespielt, wurden schnell Freunde und beschlossen ab diesem Zeitpunkt gemeinsam Musik zu machen – als „Pischinger & Dermota“, ihren lustigen Namen eben. Die Leute wurden ganz verrückt nach ihren treibenden Bässen, klaren Höhen und hallenden Percussions. Techhouse, Techno und alles was ordentlich antreibt – das war ihr Markenzeichen. Das DJ-Duo machte jede Party unvergesslich und ihre Musik hinterliess bleibenden Eindruck.

Und wenn sie nicht gestorben sind, dann sind sie immer noch gute Freunde und stehen gemeinsam vor einem tanzenden Mob an den Plattentellern.

„Das war eine komische Geschichte. Morgen soll Mama wieder erzählen“.

Back on Crosstown Rebels after the barnstorming ‘Heartbreaker’ EP at the end of last year, Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke once again shows he’s a dancer at heart and a truly versatile beat maker. Kicking off with another killer A­side ‘Candy Flip’, Kele builds an infectious track as he works a dirty low bassline with his own deep gravelly vocals. ‘The New Feel’’ follows on with dark bass stabs making way for a bouncing groove, haunting chords, and filtered vox with an anthemic feel. FCL’s remix treatment gives a classic, uplifting dimension to ‘Candy Flip’ while final original ‘Come To Me’ is a master class in raw, bass heavy grooves with a modern touch and fresh vocals from Jenny Bastet.

From the propulsive rhythm sections of Bloc Party’s Platinum­selling debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ to guest vocals for artists like The Chemical Brothers, dance music has always been the underlying influence for Kele Okereke. Having spent ten years making records in studios working with some of the greatest producers in the world, Kele is now launching his solo assault on house music and leaving a distinctive mark in the process on new home label Crosstown Rebels.

With the ‘Heartbreaker EP’ gaining critical acclaim across the board and ‘Candy Flip’ about to win over yet more dancefloors, Kele’s new sound is no flash in the pan. Kamp! is a Polish electronic pop trio formed in 2008 in Lodz, Poland. Their sound is often described as melodic synth-pop influenced by 80's new wave, 70's krautrock and 90's french house genres. But listen for yourself, as genre-dropping doesn't quite do them justice.

"Melt" is another feel good song from the polish trio who are experts in the art of doing catchy melodies and stick to the ear chorus. For remix duties were called Midnight Magic, Xinobi and Zimmer who made diferent aproaches to the song with great results.

"Melt" is their second single for Discotexas, following "Cairo" on 2011, which included a Beatport top ten remix by Moullinex. Kamp! have just released their debut album on their own Brennnessel label.
