In the midst of the increasingly popular house music hurricane comes a fresh two track EP from one of the movement’s most promising talents, Richy Ahmed. Taking cues from hip-hop, techno, funk and disco, ‘The Drums’ EP arrives on the 2nd of December via Hot Creations.

Just stretching his limbs in terms of his discography, in less than two years the London-based producer has gathered some series attention. From 2011’s slinky, deep house mover 'Suck It' (Hot Creations) to his 80's chicago manipulation remix of Infinity Ink's 'Infinity', there’s always an enviable glisten about his work. His wizardry behind the decks lead to him being named resident DJ at DC10's Paradise this summer with the season coming to an end in late September.

'The Drums' got its maiden plays during Richy's Boiler Room Set and the takeovers of Paradise Ibiza. The EP steps out of the blocks with definite verve. Title track, 'The Drums', a hip-house barnstormer of a track it massages a buttery-smooth rolling bassline into a four-to-the-floor backdrop with contagious results. Legend, Kevin Knapp, jumps on vocal duty dropping in and out with praise to 'the drums'. On the flip side, '101 Jam' is a rolling analogue slice of deep house brilliance. Here, Richy pitches skittering hi-hats and hyperactive synth movements atop a robust bassline foundation. It proves homage to the brand of house celebrated right from the genre’s genesis.

It's no secret that Jay Lumen is a top name when it comes to storming the sales charts. His tracks seem to be the choice of a multitude of djs all over the globe and his last release in OFFSPIN wasn't an exception. We couldn't wait to get a sequel from him and here he delivers an amazing set of dancefloor bombs well worth the wait.
"The Reason" starts the party working his trademark house groove with a fat bassline and suggestive speech vocals. Synth stabs and strings complete all the elements for a crowd favourite, as always the breakdown drives intensity up a notch too. This gem comes in two versions, adding a "Take Me Back To Chicago" remix where Jack does his trick. Dirty 909 chicago beats, big synth bass and a whole vibe that will take you back to the golden days of the windy city's sound.

"Flawless Fever" gets deeper into tech house territory with a pulsating techno bass and mind bending synth arpeggios and arrangements to lead the track into another huge breakdown, indeed another peak house monster from Jay.

We are very happy to have him back as OFFSPIN continues to grow as a dj favourite on its own right.

Cologne-centric dynamic duo Danito & Athina bring their fresh, soul-inspired production style into play on their newest release for LMF. ‘Feelings’ commences as a winding groove, adding sequence upon sequence of tense chunks on a backdrop of dramatic synths paired with a throbbing bassline. Spiralling on, it reaches a nervous and dance-inducing apex that is only partially relieved, keeping feet moving. The second track dives even further into labyrinthian tech explorations. Starting off with a subdued groove, ‘Hyperion’ progresses into an immersive realm by the way of pulsating drums and psychedelic synths. Berliner Tony Casanova is enlisted for the remix, providing a collateral version of ‘Feelings’. Dotted with relentless bell loopsthat evoke a dark and melancholic atmosphere, the reinterpretation carries on minimal elements from the initial structure. Granite kicks layered with sparse distorted vocals create an unfamiliar yet highly mesmerizing groove with late night appeal, rounding off the release on a deep note.

Rob Hes has been a busy man… In the six months since the Dutch artist last flexed his tools of the trade on
SCI+TEC he’s dented discographies with slick physical grooves on KD Raw, Elevate, Tronic and My Favourite
Freaks. For good reason; he’s cooking up some high grade techno right now.
Now back on Dubfire’s imprint, it’s yet another late night crusade into the unknown. ‘Skin Deep’ sets the scene
with a soaring hook that rises and rises relentlessly, constantly mutating to create an ultimately psychedelic
effect. A classic gear-shifter; energy and intensity levels are guaranteed to raise several levels when you drop
this.
‘The Interview’ flips Rob’s sonic coin for a much creepier saga. After the smouldering, tripped-out intro, we’re hit
with a mutant acid arpeggio that stalks amid a heavily stretched humanoid texture before melting into a
breakdown of mind-melting proportions. True dark room dynamite.
Two more critical constructions from a consistently on-point man who’s fast-becoming a regular on the
SCI+TEC rollcall. Who knows how many other discographies or playlists he’ll dent before he returns again?

After four outstanding various artist releases, Hot Creations off­shoot Hot Waves is back with it’s first full artist release ‘It’s Over’ from Bristol sensation Waifs & Strays aka Amos Nelson and Rich Beanland. Jamie Jones and Lee Foss first snapped up the talented producers in 2011 with ‘Body Shiver’ for Hot Creations. This time they deliver two dancefloor weapons with infectious vocals and bouncing basslines just in time for summer sun.

In 2010 their debut release ‘3am’ on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom imprint set the benchmark high for future success; featuring in DJ Mag’s essential releases, and picking up props from major players including Luciano, DJ T, Anja Schneider, dOP, Danny Tenaglia and Laurent Garnier.

The follow­up record ‘Yeah Yeah’, gathered significant international support following its debut at Detroit Music Conference, smashing dancefloors from Fabric to Watergate.
o+o Since then the pair have released records on Leftroom, Resonance, Futureboogie and Dirtybird, with support from Pete Tong in the form of Essential New Contender and another Essential New Tune in the form of ‘I Saw Yo Girl’, released at the beginning of 2013.

2013 sees Waifs & Strays continue a relentless schedule of touring and producing with tours planned for Australia and the Americas, and a number of releases on the way.
