I've been hearing from a HUGE load of anti-EDM people that dubstep is just a bunch of random disorienting and annoying sounds glued together, and that anyone with a "music making program or software" could make a Skrillex song. So I decided to try and come up with a legitimate melodic dubstep track by myself, and I have to say, their arguments have NEVER been so invalid. To all dubstep haters out there, no offense, but making good dubstep takes a MASSIVE amount of time, effort, and, most of all, KNOWLEDGE, even with the help of presets. No pun intended. For producers like Au5 and Virtual Riot to whip up so many dubstep tracks is extremely remarkable and commendable. So the next time someone is being all cynical and just plain narrow-minded about dubstep or anything related to EDM, you have my approval to punch that someone in the face, nose, throat, gut, or wherever you feel like punching. That is all for this little rant.
