She’s like a record deal. All that I dreamed about was suddenly real. Jet to meetings on the other coast, getting greeted by attractive folks. Went overbudget and the album flopped, she’s got the masters, I’m as good as dropped. She’s like a record deal. I don’t know if I had what it took, but I looked better than I ever looked.

I have been telling everyone I know either me or this city has got to go. I talked so much about leaving this town, I gotta pack up my stuff just to back up my mouth. It’s so easy to say that I’m going away, to get reactions from those that I ought to embrace. I gave up my place, bought my ticket today, but if you told me no, just don’t, I’d stay. 

What use is wisdom if it just makes you scared, what use is love if it can’t be declared? But I’m crazy about what is crazy about you. I just wish you were crazy enough to be too. Underneath the sky and all the bodies in motion, underneath the deep oceans' floor, earth's core, and its molten explosions—underneath that fire lies my devotion, all my convictions and notions so hopelessly hopeful. And I can see that I deceive no one. Five layers, ten sleeves, and my heart bleeds on every one.

Underneath disguises lying at the surface there's one reliable person, there is the end of our searching. And underneath a moment I see forever, whole books where there's just one letter. Ten Sleeves

New Jersey native Will Georgantas has been performing and recording as Thunderegg since the mid-nineties, laying down critically acclaimed, often lo-fi rock that has been compared to Guided by Voices, the Velvet Underground, and Paul Westerberg. After the 2006 release of Thunderegg's incredible 231-song compilation "Open Book," the New Haven Advocate wrote, "Georgantas’s melodies sound effortlessly executed, like he simply exhales . . . unusually catchy and inviting tidbits." The prolific Egg's 17th album, the full-band "C'mon Thunder," comes out May 13 and is the band's second collaboration with producer Alan Weatherhead (Sparklehorse).
