The fact is that sometimes the words just won't come out. This can happen some people at some point. If you where interested in a partner and was just about to speak to them you freeze up and the words just won't come out. Nerves play a big part in this. Some people find that this is funny and have a good laught. They can't understand why this person can't talk. Thats because it has not happen to them yet. Oktave Recordings starts out 2023 with a various artists EP featuring a talented array of American artists who are making big noise in the underground.

Lindsey Herbert has been a force on the American underground scene since her first appearances in 2015. A former resident of San Francisco’s Robot Ears parties, she is currently a resident of the Bay City’s Direct to Earth events. She appears regularly for LA underground promoters 6AM, Observe and Synthetic Minds, amongst others. Her music has been released on Paula Temple’s Noise Manifesto label amongst many others, and she is currently embarking on an American tour supporting Richie Hawtin.

CommonSense is a label from Mexico that has welcomed artists such as Peter Van Hoesen, Ricardo Garduno, Juan Sanchez, DJ Nobu and Eduardo De La Calle.

The latest ten-track VA titled CommonSense Vol. 5 features a fantastic collection of artists including Truncate, Denise Rabe, Fixeer and PWCCA.

Truncate‘s raw and punchy production caught our ear. The Los Angeles-based conductor is known for releasing on 50 Weapons, Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver, Len Faki’s Figure, as well as his Truncate label project.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his track “Untitled Tool” that takes on a slightly different approach to usual grooves. Using twisting modular tones as the main riffs, his always on point and particular percussion is hit varying effects that add to the fun of this jackin’ and freaky cut.

Excited to announce the release of my upcoming EP, "Chasers", on Bullfinch Records. This concept album is particularly personal as it draws inspiration from experiences, thoughts, and sounds that's defined the year that's about to end.
Both tracks included in the EP feature plenty of analogue gear, as I wanted to recreate the timeless feel of the music I love: from psytrance to deep house and minimal. The title track is about my relentless research of new sounds and vibes when I produce a new song, while Equator aims to represent the journey and influences that defined my creative path.
The result is an EP that blends various styles into a coherent soundscape, featuring energetic basslines, organic percussions, and mesmerizing build-ups.
