Ottawa’s Jokers Of The Scene made the leap from party DJs to producers simply by working with what they knew best: the most mind-meltingly intense parts of dance music throughout history, from ecstatic big room house buildups to hyper-distorted electro basslines and the lighthearted samples of 90s techno, all thrown in a blender at 130 BPM. Originally released in 1993 Love Stimulation stands among the most influential works by Humate, the Hamburg-based project. This release gathers all official versions and remixes, including the celebrated Paul van Dyk “Love Mix”, co-produced with Frerichs, a version that became a defining club moment of the decade and reached #18 in the UK Singles Chart in 1999.

Through the mid 90s, Humate enhanced the sound of Superstition Records with forward looking releases like 3.1, The Sound, Choose Life and Vivid. Love Stimulation marks the peak of that creative run, a track that continues to appear in “all time classic” lists and still moves dancefloors over 30 years later.

This one first appeared on Flying Circus, a short-lived Superstition offshoot from back in the day. Now it returns home under the Superstition Records banner.

Humate - Love Stimulation (Radio Slave Vox Remix)

Frankyeffe will step up to the big leagues next month, as Riot Recordings drop his debut album, Trenta, on November 9th.

Promising to be an intimate affair, the 16-track effort features the vocals of fellow Italian, Phil, and will offer a range of "melody-driven techno and electronica" according to the press release.

"I wanted to add to my sound palette," says Frankyeffe. "Different genres and sounds that I hadn’t tackled before but that I’d been thinking about for some time. ‘Trenta’ felt like the right moment to set myself new challenges. These types of sound have always fascinated me, I have always loved melodies fused with electronics and it was great to be able to broaden my cultural and musical knowledge."

Longevity for the most part, is not something that’s usually associated with electronic music, a genre that moves so fast it often leaves those who stop to pause for breadth in its wake. Thus for a track to still get the reaction that Moonbootica’s ‘June’ does – despite the Hamburg duo playing it in every single set they’ve delivered for over a decade – is a stunning testament to the cut’s enduring appeal.

Having decided to finally breathe in some fresh life into their signature tune with a number of new new interpretations not only from themselves but Teenage Mutants, Ante Perry, Tagteam Terror and Hell Yes last summer, the veteran pairing have now decided to repeat the trick this winter, drafting in Animal Trainer, Italo Brutalo, Sharam Jey, Topspin and Étienne de Crécy to deliver another set of reworks guaranteed to get you thawing out those boogying muscles.

Having been on the scene for over a decade, Wehbba has actually released a ridiculous amount of music. Labels like Tronic, 82 Recordings and Systematic have acted as a home for the artist but his forthcoming work on Padley's is some of our favourite to date.

The title track does the business but fellow Brazilian ANNA has served up the remix and it's more of the excellent same we've come to expect from the chart-topping producer. ANNA's seemingly got the golden touch and when she's not climbing the Beatport charts she's getting booked all over the world.
