We inaugurate the new year with a set whose energy still snakes through the trees of the Komorebi Music Festival. A set capable of subjugating bodies to the rhythm of a darkness dense of strong techno and synergies.
It was an untamable ride with which Wrong Assessment closed the curtain on Saturday night: powerful bpm that scratched the earth and overwhelmed the crowd.

@lianerosenthal, artist based in Amsterdam.

Jerusalem born and recently relocated in Amsterdam, Liane already played in De School, Radion along with gigs in Georgia, Germany and Tel Aviv. Her sound is constructed from layers of deep, raw and industrial techno, characterised by crushed kicks that create a distorted fog of noisy textures with an experimental edge. Her sets are built from an immersive and dynamic experience, while keeping a rolling flow that shatters and reforms.

This is my submission to the Re/Form Spring 2024 DJ Competition. I have been wanting to head out to LA to experience the parties out there for some time. When I saw the first round of this lineup announced, I immediately set out to make arrangments to go. While I have not yet been to LA for an event, the city has garnered a reputation of having one of the strongest and most forward thinking underground electronic music scenes in the US. Whether they are exhibiting artists with legendary status spanning several decades, US debuts of emerging international artists, or offering a shot at the decks to a promising local or regional DJ, the responses to their parties appear to be never short of highly revered. As such, it would be overwhelming honor and privilege to be included among the ranks of the artists booked by Dirty Epic, 6AM, and Synthetik Minds. 

Some of the artists on this lineup have been incredibly influential to me and their tracks make their way into my DJ sets on a regular basis, so this one is particularly special to me. I will be there either way, but I hope you'll support me by listening and sharing thoughts to this mix which was inspired by this party.

As a submission for a chance at an opening slot, I wanted this mix to showcase some of the deeper and more hypnotic areas of modern, futuristic techno. While it certainly listens with a considerable amount of cerebral depth, I was sure to still infuse a healthy dose of driving energy and groovy rhythm and my typical incorporation of the occasional broken beat.

Out of respect to the incredibly talented and hardworking producers releasing tunes selected in this mix, I have included the tracklist with track name, artist, label, and month of release.
