The Seventh NIR Chapter sees as guest the Philadelphia duo Zillas on Acid. Thomas Roland and James Weissinger, honing their skills for almost 15 years as resident DJs at MAKING TIME, Philadelphia's never-ending nightlife institution, the Zillas have recently turned their attention to original production. With the 2019 release of their Black Cat EP (Optimo Music) and the She Takes NRG EP (Ivan Smagghe’s Les Disques de la Mort), among other releases, the Zillas have garnered support from fellow futuristic travelers like Roman Flügel, Jennifer Cardini, Justin Strauss, The Juan MacLean, Cooper Saver, and many more. Deep in the studio or out in the club at their monthly mutant gatherings 'Melt You Down' and 'Acid Banquet', the Zillas mix slow-motion death disco, dubbed-out drum machine music, and of course ACID to excite party people from all planets. NIR Chapter #7 ZILLAS ON ACID

tici taci - bringing you electric funk rekkids at tempos below 120 bpm. No pre-packed freeze dried loops here, all tracks have live instruments well to the fore, from funky wah-wah guitars and deep chunky bass to temperamental analogue synthesisers and live percussion.

Now 2 years later (July 2015) we're at 23 releases from a range of artists and remixers, with one release scheduled each month.


Duncan Gray (biog) : Perhaps best known as one half of the Sons of Slough along with Ian Weatherall - see discogs entry for details of releases. The Sons were a formidable Live act (see You tube) playing regularly across the UK. DG's own releases also gained some popularity, starting with cuts for Scatological (1996) Blue Black, Whole9Yards, SaltHill, through to Aquamelon (2009). Since returning to music production in 2013 he has released tracks on NEIN, Eskimo, Blindetonation, Play Pal, Rock to The Beat, plus Andrew Weatherall's vinyl only Birdscarer label. He has played guitar on half a dozen AW remixes.

Yes, I do want to hear new tracks. I am always interested in music which features REAL INSTRUMENTS - or electronic originality. I'm getting fussy these days...please email files to the email address above. (don't just send a soundcloud link please) If you don't know what the sound of this label is like, don't bother sending me stuff. I get quite a few demos with a note saying "I love the sound of your label" from producers who have clearly never listened to any of our releases.

PLEASE NOTE : 2020 release schedule now full, but I can always make room for something spectacular, or a really cool remix...
