Partyfine returns with its next package of shimmering gems hot on the heels of the ‘Clean Drive Edits EP’. Carefully curated by main man Yuksek, the Reims based party label delivers a multi-track compilation of all original beats and beauties from a wide array of talent! Normally known for its ‘more or less disco’ brief, Partyfine takes a 
deeper, darker, and more exotic approach on this sixth chapter in their comp series.
On Partyfine Volume VI, there are artists who have been there right from the start like Get a Room! , who delivers a deliciously dark disco anthem that features CAR. Label head Yuksek drops two original afro-infused disco bangers on the comp, while Claap! gets ecstatic with a cut designed for those quiet but enigmatic early hours. Rubin Steiner turns the rhythm and the bass down deep and slow, while Polocorp 
(Polo & Pan) trucks on with the tripped-out exotica he is known for. Partyfine also welcomes some new artists to the fold like Patchworks (Voilaaa’s producer and member) with a track this is nothing but a pure house babe, and not unlike the vibe we are left with on Destino’s cut. Frank Agrario’s touch is low-fi and percussive, Plaisir de Frances offers up a hienergy club belter with vocoder in full effect, while Birdee’s delivery is probably the peak of the comp with its up-tempo shiny disco drop. Other new acts include Alex Blex, and the elusive African artist Francis de Francois. There’s a further new project 
called Ubaruh by Phillipi of Fatnotronic, with Villa closing out this collection on an uplifting vitamin jab of a vibe.
When the sun goes down, the dancers start to float, and the nights goes all trippy, this could well be the comp of your summer sundown. This party is fine!

Locklead - Good Times EP

New kid on the block Locklead delivers his first appearance on Soulfood with his "Good Times EP". And good times it is! Locklead is known for heavy kick drums, phat bass lines and uplifting percussion rhythms. On tis EP he doesn't leave any of those behind. On remix duty is one his inspirators. Kris Wadsworth delivers a phat old school dusty rework of the title track. It's all about the groove on this one. On the b-side Locklead's taking it up a notch. No doubt that "And Forever" will destroy every dance floor. Massive bomb! Let's finish things of with "Playground". Again, bangin' kick drums and phat grooves seems like the perfect recipe in here. This one ain't for the faint hearted!

'In Reaktionen' to Sascha Funke’s ‘In Relationen’ comes this remix package from Multi Culti, featuring contributions from Autarkic and @kasperbjorke

Israel’s super-talented Autarkic converts the main theme into a progressive new-wave epic, adding vocals that tell the tale alluded to by the gently weeping, psychedelic guitar, reading in Funke’s original a narrative of personal breakdown, being pulled apart by relationship, presumably. If that all seems a bit heavy for your party, there’s an instrumental version which features no mention of mental breakdown.

Great Dane Kasper Bjorke builds on the lead lines, adding funky percussion layers and a hypnotic synth while skillfully containing the prog to a more dancefloor friendly arrangement. 

To keep things fresh, Funke adds a dope original track as well, and it’s a total pachanga popper that sounds like it was taken out of a Mayan Warrior highlight reel, the sound of a funky German man donning pointy-cowboy-boots, riding out into the desert on a diet of mushroom tacos and artisanal mescal. In other words - it will set your legs on fire.

It's hard to believe that that it's been a year already since we premiered Fabrizio Mammarella's wonderous track Unit from LAGASTA's brilliant 2019 Late Summer album, I guess it's due to 2020 having been such a joyous fun filled year that it's rushed by for quickly. Thankfully no matter what your 2020 experience has been LAGASTA have delivered a monstrous compilation yet again to keep our spirits sky high. Split into two editions it features a who's who of electronic music's finest artists and hot up-and-coming producers aplenty. Expect hot tracks from Gerd Janson & Jacques Renault, Yuksek, Alma Negra, Kiddy Smile, and many more amazing artists.

Safe to say one of the real success stories of 2020 has been the incredible success of the Mexican Electronic scene and our premier today comes from yet another super talented Mexican artist Iñigo Vontier. tici taci - bringing you electric funk rekkids at tempos below 120 bpm. No pre-packed freeze dried loops here, all tracks have live instruments well to the fore, from funky wah-wah guitars and deep chunky bass to temperamental analogue synthesisers and live percussion.

Now 2 years later (July 2015) we're at 23 releases from a range of artists and remixers, with one release scheduled each month.


Duncan Gray (biog) : Perhaps best known as one half of the Sons of Slough along with Ian Weatherall - see discogs entry for details of releases. The Sons were a formidable Live act (see You tube) playing regularly across the UK. DG's own releases also gained some popularity, starting with cuts for Scatological (1996) Blue Black, Whole9Yards, SaltHill, through to Aquamelon (2009). Since returning to music production in 2013 he has released tracks on NEIN, Eskimo, Blindetonation, Play Pal, Rock to The Beat, plus Andrew Weatherall's vinyl only Birdscarer label. He has played guitar on half a dozen AW remixes.

I'm getting fussy these days...please email files to the email address above. (don't just send a soundcloud link please) If you don't know what the sound of this label is like, don't bother sending me stuff. I get quite a few demos with a note saying "I love the sound of your label" from producers who have clearly never listened to any of our releases.

PLEASE NOTE : 2020 release schedule now full, but I can always make room for something spectacular, or a really cool remix...
