Great mix, as pretty much always. Do you remember what is this track?

Few DJs could adequately represent the last three decades of New York nightclub history as well as Justin Strauss.

He's been spinning since he was 17 and has visited the booth of nearly every dance club in New York and around the world, pioneering his own distinctive sound, and becoming one of the most sought-after remixers and producers. He has worked with artists such as Depeche Mode, Hot Chip, Sergio Mendez, Tina Turner, Jimmy Cliff, B-52s, Luther Vandross, 808 State, Malcolm McClaren, Skinny Puppy, Goldfrapp, LCD Soundsystem to name a few and on over 200 records.

As half of the production duos, Whatever/Whatever and A/JUS/TED, he continued to produce and mix records, working on remixes for the likes of Hot Chip, William Onyeabor, LCD Soundsystem, Blood Orange, Holy Ghost!, Franz Ferdinand, Beyonce and working on new projects like 'Extra Credit' with Joe Goddard of Hot Chip & Marcus Marr, and with Max Pask under their Each Other moniker, whose debut E.P. was mixed by Soulwax and released this year on their Deewee label.

Galatheia, or Tèa Shaldeva, is a versatile artist and DJ from Skopje, North Macedonia. Since her early childhood, music has been the only constant passion that has guided her to be a vocalist in a few bands, a regular radio show host and a producer of her own music. She started producing electronic music circa 2007 and her work was set on stage two years afterwards, when she released her first EP, ‘All We Ever Wanted Was Everything’ in 2010. In the following years, she released a few singles and her debut album ‘Metropol’.  


In her guest mix for Bound by Sound, she turns to a predominantly kraut feel. Skopje's new alternative wave has moved and inspired her to blend some of her favourite obscure tunes with the songs of a small city reborn. Sometimes, you have to look no further than home to find the place where there's everything you need, sonically and otherwise.

Duncan Gray (biog) : Perhaps best known as one half of the Sons of Slough along with Ian Weatherall - see discogs entry for details of releases. The Sons were a formidable Live act (see You tube) playing regularly across the UK. DG's own releases also gained some popularity, starting with cuts for Scatological (1996) Blue Black, Whole9Yards, SaltHill, through to Aquamelon (2009). Since returning to music production in 2013 he has released tracks on NEIN, Eskimo, Blindetonation, Play Pal, Rock to The Beat, plus Andrew Weatherall's vinyl only Birdscarer label. He has played guitar on half a dozen AW remixes.

Yes, I do want to hear new tracks. I am always interested in music which features REAL INSTRUMENTS - or electronic originality. I'm getting fussy these days...please email files to the email address above. (don't just send a soundcloud link please) If you don't know what the sound of this label is like, don't bother sending me stuff. I get quite a few demos with a note saying "I love the sound of your label" from producers who have clearly never listened to any of our releases.

PLEASE NOTE : 2020 release schedule now full, but I can always make room for something spectacular, or a really cool remix...
