Real Velour est un producteur et chanteur basé à Birmingham. Si ses racines musicales puisent dans le punk, il a pris un virage Italo Disco, matiné de synth-pop et de cold wave, et crée une musique élégante et addictive, entre nostalgie et modernité. Il a conçu pour Radio Fatx un mix éclectique qui traverse quatre décennies de dance music : de l’Italo Disco culte à la new wave, en passant par la House des origines. Real Velour is a producer and vocalist based in Birmingham. While his musical roots lie in punk, he has since taken an Italo Disco turn, blending it with hints of synth-pop and cold wave to craft a sound that is both elegant and addictive, balancing nostalgia with modernity. Álvaro Cabana has been a key figure in Madrid's club scene for more than two decades. Since taking to the turntables in the late nineties, Álvaro has played thousands of gigs, promoted hundreds of events, and held residencies at legendary venues such as Coppelia and Mondo. He now runs one of Spain’s most successful labels, Rotten City. Throughout his career, he has consistently combined his love for cosmic and italo, acid house, post punk, new wave, trance, and classic techno to create tracks aimed squarely at the dance floor.

A former vinyl dealer at Atlas Store, Cabana later channeled his expansive taste into production and curation. In 2015, he founded Rotten City Records, a label championing a psychedelic, romantic, and esoteric blend of cosmic body music. Its catalog features boundary-pushing artists such as Red Axes, Curses, Justin Robertson, Zombies In Miami, Damon Jee, Eden Burns, Elfenberg, and DS Salas.

As a producer, Cabana’s projects include D.Y.O.R. (with Christian C. and Rubén Kielmansegge) and Holographic Planes (with Damon Jee). EPs like Latinos Psicoactivos and Los Flagelantes highlight his cinematic flair and latin-infused sensibility. On his own, his discography is extensive, featuring releases and remixes on acclaimed labels such as Prins Thomas’s Internasjonal, PETS, and Trampoliner, to name a few-earning support from industry heavyweights like Dixon, Andrew Weatherall, and many more.

Leeds imprint Paisley Dark has carved out a reputation for psychedelic chug and shadowy late-night burners, and their latest signing fits right in. Enigmatic newcomer Viper Patrol makes a bold entrance with two originals that are heavy on the acid, low-slung in tempo, and dripping with afterhours intent.
Dancing Voices spirals through mesmeric acid lines and hypnotic percussion, the kind of track that slowly works its way under the skin until the floor is fully locked. Def Charge follows suit with darker propulsion, a driving chug wrapped in trippy, psychedelic textures.
The remix package brings serious weight. Cosmikuro ramps up the 303 pressure, delivering a heads-down workout that’s tailor-made for ALFOS devotees. A Space Age Freak Out flips it dubwise, pushing low-end heft and cosmic atmospherics into a rolling late-night groove. Ian Vale strips back to a shadowy pulse, creating a warped, hallucinatory trip that stays relentlessly floor-focused. And Airsine closes with a Balearic-tinged reimagining, weaving sunlit melodies into a peak-time rush that feels equal parts blissed-out and turbo-charged.
It’s a release that perfectly captures Paisley Dark’s ethos: psychedelic, propulsive, and always aimed at the deepest corners of the night.

tici taci - bringing you electric funk rekkids at tempos below 120 bpm. No pre-packed freeze dried loops here, all tracks have live instruments well to the fore, from funky wah-wah guitars and deep chunky bass to temperamental analogue synthesisers and live percussion.

Now 2 years later (July 2015) we're at 23 releases from a range of artists and remixers, with one release scheduled each month.


Duncan Gray (biog) : Perhaps best known as one half of the Sons of Slough along with Ian Weatherall - see discogs entry for details of releases. The Sons were a formidable Live act (see You tube) playing regularly across the UK. DG's own releases also gained some popularity, starting with cuts for Scatological (1996) Blue Black, Whole9Yards, SaltHill, through to Aquamelon (2009). Since returning to music production in 2013 he has released tracks on NEIN, Eskimo, Blindetonation, Play Pal, Rock to The Beat, plus Andrew Weatherall's vinyl only Birdscarer label. He has played guitar on half a dozen AW remixes.

I'm getting fussy these days...please email files to the email address above. (don't just send a soundcloud link please) If you don't know what the sound of this label is like, don't bother sending me stuff. I get quite a few demos with a note saying "I love the sound of your label" from producers who have clearly never listened to any of our releases.

PLEASE NOTE : 2020 release schedule now full, but I can always make room for something spectacular, or a really cool remix...
