I’m broken
The pieces of me strewn about
Vulnerable and trying to hide
Because I don’t want people to see me like this
I pick up the pieces 
Slowly, I take my form again
But I’m not the same
The cracks still show
My form misshapen and oblong
I still smile
But I don’t feel whole

I wish I could obtain 
That return to form
Going back to myself
Becoming who I want to be
Being able to really be who I am
Free from myself
Or rather, free from my limitations
That I created

And yet
I haven’t felt that way in a long time
And I don’t think I will for a long time more
