I couldn't mix in the past months and really missed it. This mix was inspired by the bassline in "Midnight" by Hosh and I wanted to create something out of that.

Fabian Vieregge moved to the capitol Berlin in 2011 to find himself in music. After years of studying the many varieties of electronic music, he found his own melodic and progressive style in producing and DJing.

Fabian released on labels such as Cinematique, Mango Alley, Dear Deer Music and Geistzeit. Fabian got supported by some of the most wanted Berlin DJs like Mehr is Mehr, Martin Ka, Stan Starry, Moji, Mona Moore or Maurice Mino. His tracks got also played by international artists like Lonya, Dale Middleton, Citizen Kain, Daniel Mehlhart, Darin Epsilon 

He had the honor to play in some of the best Berlin clubs such as Kater Blau, Salon zur Wilden Renate, Lieblingsbucht, IPSE or Anomalie Art Club. He has also played in other regions of Germany like Odonien Cologne, Bamberg, Passau, Saarbrücken or Zürich(CH).and many more!

Sunday night cast

Oliver alias Othertune ist für unseren Jubiläums-Podcast Numero 100 verantwortlich. Oliver wurde am 01. Januar 1988 in Rüdersdorf bei Berlin geboren und hat seinen derzeitigen Lebensmittelpunkt in Berlin und Hamburg.

1. Welche Musikrichtung hatte den größten Einfluss auf dich und wie bist du zur elektronischen Musik gekommen?

Definitiv Techno bzw. damals noch Trance. Das Interesse kam durch meine Mama, die damals auf einer der ersten Love Paraden unterwegs war und deswegen ständig solche Musik durch unser Zuhause hallte :)

2. Wie kam es dann zum Auflegen und zum Produzieren?

Mein Interesse für Musik war schon sehr früh ausgeprägt. Es fing alles im Alter von 6 Jahren mit einer Gitarre an. Das Produzieren hab ich mit 14 angefangen und das Auflegen dann mit 16 Jahren. Allerdings habe ich nie aktiv versucht, DJ zu werden und bin da so rein geschlittert :)

3. Wie würdest du deinen Sound beschreiben? 

Auf jeden Fall melodisch und mit vielen selbst eingespielten Instrumenten kombiniert. Ich spiele Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug, Klavier, Trompete, Mundharmonika und aktuell, versuche ich Geige zu lernen.

4. Hast du noch andere Pseudonyme unter denen du produzierst oder andere Musik-Projekte?

Es gibt drei bis vier Veröffentlichungen unter meinen realen Namen Oliver Nagel. Ansonsten spiele ich Gitarre in einer Band.

5. Was steht für dich in den nächsten Monaten an Gigs und Veröffentlichungen an?

Zuletzt, am 19. Mai, kam „Chasing After You“ raus. Die nächste Veröffentlichung ist am 26. Mai: Da kommt „Bipolar“ raus. Ein Song, der melodische und klassische Musik vereint. Im Break kommt etwas das vermutlich niemand erwartet. Erst recht nicht, wenn man den Othertune-Sound kennt :) Ansonsten bin ich am 27. Mai auf einem ziemlich coolen Open Air namens Nowistral.

6. Und zu guter Letzt: Was war dein bisheriges musikalisches Highlight, sowohl als DJ, als auch als Produzent?

Zum einen: Mein Beatport-Nummer-Eins-Hit „Why Don't You Love“, der sich mehr als eine Woche auf Platz 1 hielt. Zum anderen: Mein Oster-Gig im edelfettwerk in Hamburg. Dieser Vibe ist unvergesslich!
