I spent an entire(!) day creating this mix - more time than I ever dedicated to a set. Putting what flow means to my current musical self into exactly 3 hours, 33 minutes and 33 seconds was an immense challenge. I had so much space to tell a story from very chill vibes to progressive sounds I’d play in a dark, sweaty club at 5am. Interestingly, working on the set itself was a very flowing experience, in which I forgot that morning turned into night. Just recently, I experienced a wonderful naked tea party where I got to DJ, and met its organizer Danielle. I asked whether she could describe what flow means to her - which she did in a voice message, which then turned into the intro of my set. Flow is letting go, trust, surrender and so much more. “Monday night was already off to an amazing start - I had just biked out to the deep playa and was able to quickly spot the beautiful Maxa deer glittering in the distance, with the help of a perfect full moon. I was overwhelmed with excitement as I headed towards it.

To me, one of the magical parts of Burning Man is the serendipitous run-ins with people you weren’t expecting to find so far out in the middle of the desert. When I arrived on the art car, I remember feeling blown away by how many friends and familiar faces were both on the car and in the crowd. It was overwhelming to see everyone.

If you were there that night, I hope listening to this set brings you back to that place. And if you are listening for the first time, I hope you can feel the magic we created together. Thank you to my Maxa family for having me - this is such a beautiful memory.

“To be the first artist on Monday night at Burning Man on the new Mayan Warrior Galaxyer is likely the biggest honor as DJ of 24 years. As a practicing Architect and touring DJ, the admiration I hold for the work Mayan Warrior weaves together to bring the highest level of design, sound, lighting and music, in the form of an “artcar” is endless. 
Having not seen the new design of the Mayan Warrior art car the night of my set, and being lost in the desert, trying to find it was an adventure that almost cost me missing my set. I had no idea what to look for. The only clue I could think about was lasers… but in the hectic sky of Black Rock City, the commanding, brightest vertical laser beam, connecting deep into the cosmos was my only clue. 

With less than 10 minutes until the beginning of my DJ set, and out of breath form vigorously riding my bike to arrive to the Galaxyer on time, there was no time to overthink it. I plugged into the systems, set the controls for the galaxy and let the music flow… Prepare for my cinematic & cosmic musical journey aboard the new Mayan Warrior Galaxyer; featuring tracks of mine which I wrote dreaming of playing them on this amazing creation, plus some old ones from 2001. Flying that spaceship was truly legendary. 

Eternal gratitude to the Mayan Warrior family (the entire crew and Amal, Pablo & Rodrigo), for having me be a part of the Galaxyer’s re-birth story, and all of you who were there on playa on this special night.”

Hello angels,

It has been too long and we still have some incredible masterpieces from Butterflies and before to upload. In comes our amazing star on the rising Qussay, the most beautiful soul and such a STRONG presence on the Babylon stage!

His closing set of the Butterfly weekend was nothing short of LEGENDARY! The vibe was absurd. It was emotional, it was overwhelmingly beautiful and simply the perfect way to end two perfect days.

We can not wait until this magical man comes back to Babylon for more!
