Dathan began singing at a young age, joining the MS Children’s Choir (Malaco Records) where he led several songs on their three recordings. “There Is Hope” and “Thank You Lord” on the Child of the King album, “Let's Change The World” on the New Creation album, “Things Go Better with Christ,” “I'm Blessed” (rap) and “Remember Me” on the When God's Children Get Together album.

Dathan was no stranger to the Mississippi Mass Choir (MMC) being a Mississippi Mass kid since the choir's inception in 1988, with his mother Dorcus Curry Thigpen as the choir’s directress and his uncle David Curry, Jr as the co-founder. Dathan officially joined the MMC in 1999. Dathan led the title track, “Amazing Love” on the MMC’s 2002 recording. Later that year, he accompanied the choir on their tour of Spain. Gospelflava's review of the album in which the title cut was on their Top Ten List for several weeks noted: "Prime among them is Dathan Thigpen's sensitive lead vocal on the album's title track. His inviting tenor voice, at first accompanied only by flowing keyboards, unhurriedly lays the foundation for a strong climax, Thigpen unravels his heart cry with growing intensity on this, one of the album's surefire hits."

Every so often an artist emerges that captures our attention, makes us sit up and take note of what pure talent and anointing looks and sounds like.   Jessica Reedy is truly one of those artists … one listen and you will never forget the voice.

Reedy first came to our attention on the national TV competition BET’s Sunday Best.  She attended the Season 2 Sunday Best audition in Washington DC on a whim to support a friend.  She quickly found herself in the Top 20 onto the show’s main stage performing for judges Mary Mary and Bebe Winans. 

 Reedy made it all the way to finals eventually being named runner up.  Throughout that process and the subsequent loss, self-doubt crept in. While Reedy never thought she had the talent to make it, God used the totality of the experience to bring her into her call as both an artist and minister of music.

The Mississippi Mass Choir strives to succeed in the gospel music industry, but its main purpose is to help establish the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. The founding and formation of the Mississippi Mass Choir began in 1988 by Frank Williams, a member of the Jackson Southernaires and an executive in the gospel music division of Malaco Records ("The Mississippi Mass Choir" 1) or Jerry Mannery, who currently serves as the choir's executive director, as well as the head of the gospel division at Malaco records. (Huey 1) Williams first got the record company's support; then he began calling on well- known talents like David R. Curry, who became the choir's musical director.
