I wrote this track in Berlin and recorded the vocals with my friend Eddie who is a drummer from New Orleans. We had a laugh recording the vocals, hope you enjoy too and remember to always Respect the Booty ;)

We wrote the lyrics as a response to all the booty songs out there. Thought we'd flip it on its head with a male vocal, female producer... there's nothing big in talkin' bad about the booty ;) 

Tigerlight - Respect The Booty

Tigerlight is a half British, half Finnish-Swedish singer, composer and DJ who lives in Berlin. She is a dedicated vocal and music production geek. 

Her productions and vocal collaborations have graced labels such as Ministry Of Sound, AEI, Party Like Us, Nest, Punks, Gold Channel Recordings, Universal, Suicide Dub and Never Say Die and her own label Tigerlight Musik. She has also ghost written tracks that have gathered millions of hits as part of her role as a vocal topline writer.

Live Tigerlight DJs and sings over her own productions and collaborative releases alongside a hefty selection of bass heavy classics and fresh cuts. Her live shows have seen her perform across clubs in Europe, through to main stages at the Glastonbury Festival - including warming up for Caribou, Hot chip and Todd Terje on the Westholt's stage. Other notable Tigerlight shows include The Secret Garden Party Festival, Glade Festival, Boomtown Festival, Lovebox, through to headlining KOKO (Camden) and Concorde 2 and Coalition (Brighton) and a full tour of the USA.

As a podcast producer and host she has guest-hosted DnB shows on BBC 1Xtra, co-created weekly comedy sketches for Crissy Cris, and featured on a spoof music documentary with Mistajam. She has produced and hosted bi-weekly in-depth artist interview podcasts with guests such as Jeff Mills, Claptone, Black Sun Empire and many more for platforms like Beatport and Digitally Imported and as well as producing and hosting Germany’s Groove Magazine’s chart show.

Alongside her dance productions she also writes music for feature films and documentaries. She was invited to talk as composer for a panel at the Berlin film festival for Native Instruments with her film credits including end credits theme for the prequel to the Oscar nominated ‘Fathers and Sons’; award winning documentary - ‘Return to Homs’ which was chosen to open the Amsterdam Documentary Film Festival and has gone on to win festival awards including the ‘World Cinema Award’ at Sundance in the US, at which she was a featured ASCAP composer. Kurdistan Dream or Reality and Generation Jihad shown initially on the German/French channel Arte and then aired worldwide, and wrote the end credits theme for the GSA cinema release Treppe Aufwärts. https://www.katarinaholmberg.com/film-tv-music
