The Source feat. Candi Staton’s “You Got The Love” is one of the evergreen songs of club culture. Since DJ Erin put the a cappella from The Source & Candi Staton’s funk/disco version over Frankie Knuckles’ “Your Love” in 1989, the opening lines of the song have been like an all-powerful magnet to the dancefloor. Despite there being many versions, Kevin McKay couldn’t find one that fitted his sets for today and so made an edit, and then asked the wonderfully talented Elliotte Williams-N’Dure to vocal it for him. This slow-burning deep house rendition of the classic is the result and, for us, it’s on repeat. A beautiful banger!

Canadian-born, Miami-based PRIMO is an artist on the rise. Last year’s Afro-house anthem, “Mami Colombiana”, kicked things off before two huge collaborations with BADDIES ONLY (now thankfully renamed JOHN ELLE) pushed his silky Reggaeton vocals into overdrive. “No Te Voy A Mentir” follows up his earlier colllab with Kevin McKay, “Freaky”, and continues their vocal-charged Afro. Pitched somewhere between the deeper guitar-based groove of Maz (Br) and the tougher tones of RBOR (with a touch of Buscando Money), this is a dancefloor-friendly Afro house that will work in more chilled musical settings, too. Superb.

The Message

What links Moby, Snap and Whitney Houston? The answer is New York songwriter Toni Colandreo. They wrote "Loves Gonna Get You" for Jocelyn Brown (as sampled by Moby in "Go" and Snap in "The Power") and also this song, "Love Will Save The Day". The "Whitney" album that the original recording featured on was a massive record for Kevin McKay in the late 80s, and the original Jellybean production (and David Morales remixes) were in constant rotation on his turntables. His many visits to London's Roast parties (where the dancefloor reciprocates his love of Whitney) led to an edit of the original and now, this cover version. Wrapping the iconic topline in tough beats, driving bass and some killer chord stabs, Kevin has taken this funky 80s jam into house heaven. Every time we've seen it drop, it has gone off!

When Kevin McKay met Jen Payne in Dublin in 2021, the pair instantly hit it off. Since then, they've produced countless tracks together and enjoyed many a B2B. Jen's style is more high-octane than Kevin's, and so when they come together, their tracks are wonderfully balanced with an incredible energy that suits a lot of DJs. Recently, they've both been adding Afro house flavours in their sets, and they wanted to try that on their 2022 version of Rihanna's hit song "Pon De Replay". So here, complete with killer bongo rolls and a groove to die for, is their 2025 version. It's a summer heater!

It’s been a minute since we’ve had Terri-Anne on the label, and we’ve missed her loopy deep house vibes, so we set up a studio session with her and Kevin. Her first sample pick was one close to Kevin’s heart. Having co-produced the Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine anthem “Dr. Pressure”, he has always been a huge fan of Gloria Estefan’s Latin disco. So when Terri-Anne suggested “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You”, he couldn’t load up his sampler fast enough. Much like his and Amal Nemer’s remix of “In The Air Tonight”, Kevin and Terri-Anne take snatches of vocal and lay them over a deep, pad-filled groove. Add in some choice timbale rolls and you have an absolute belter of a tune.
