(There were promises or expectations set before, related to intimacy or romance, and is asking for fulfillment of such)

(To ‘love like a sailor’ is referencing how sailors love hard, due to their job keeping them away from home. Navy workers are deployed for three-year periods (three on + three off), though not all time is spent on the same ship. They get around a month home with their partner, before getting deployed to different vessel)

(Asking that once the person they’re in love with gets to know them, can they explain to them what kind of person they are as they aren’t even sure themselves)

(The bible teaches the younger version of Lovette that the Lord will save them, but if the Lord sees their relationship as wrong she believes that he can save her instead)

My mom says that she's worried, but I'm covered in this favor
(Gods favour is usually seen as when someone feels they experience God so here Lovette is describing her relationship with the woman and partners as a spiritual experience. Her mom is worried because she probably belongs to a religion in which homosexuality or preference in her partners is a sin so she feels as though her daughter will not experience Gods love but Lovette is reassuring her that just being with them is all the fulfillment she needs)

And when we're getting dirty, I forget all that is wrong
(“Wrong” in this case refers to multiple meanings, not only all the problems that Lovette faces in their day to day, but also the fact that most people see homosexual relationships (such as the one that the she is in) as wrong)

(This could be Lovette speaking of trying to be with her ex or other partners because it is what she feels she should be doing to conform but nothing makes her feel the way the current person makes her feel even if she doesn’t like that fact so it’s bittersweet and therefore ‘stings’ . It could also be in reference to the biblical snake leading Eve astray against God as homosexuality is a sin in many religions and this idea links to the line ‘I don’t believe in God but I believe that you’re my saviour’)
