New York City’s Tigers & Monkeys is back with their third full-length album Saturday Destroyer, a project that tackles the norms of society and provides a sense of encouragement and empowerment to fight back. Fusing rock, southern influence, and a hint of blues, Saturday Destroyer creates a sound that is unlike any other. Front woman, Shonali Bhowmik, describes the songs as pages taken from her life in a big city which is all things at once: aggressive, careless, staggering, hypocritical and a tease.

Melding the sounds of indie rock, blues, pop and garage rock, Tigers & Monkeys is a band from New York City with a haunting southern drawl.  In earlier releases, Loose Mouth (2007) and The Animals Will Forgive Us Again (2015) bandleader Shonali Bhowmik (lead vocals, guitar & formerly of Ultrababyfat) who is from Nashville, TN showcased her enchantment with a “dirty city.” Bhowmik’s songs are pages taken from her life in a big city which is all things at once: aggressive, careless, staggering, hypocritical and a tease. The band includes Jason Lam (bass, vocals), Joachim Kearns (guitar), Russ Dungan (guitar, surfer), Antonia Santangelo (percussion, dancing),  Anthony Cangelosi (drums) with honorary members Jody Bilinski (drums) and Jeff Sheinkopf (keyboards, drums) filling out the lineup.

Tigers and Monkeys is a rock n' roll band out of New York City led by singer songwriter guitar player Shonali Bhowmik.   Jason Lam plays bass and sings.  Antonia Santangelo dances and plays percussion. Joachim Kearns plays guitar.  Anthony Cangelosi plays drums.  Russell Dungan plays guitar.  Jeff Sheinkopf plays keys.  Additional guests on this album include Marcellus Hall, Matt Whyte, Yazan Fahmawi and Michael Laderman.
