For our next trip Down The Stairs, we head down south to Birmingham and are supremely delighted to welcome Jayson Wynters (@jwynters) into the DTS fold.

Kicking off his musical endeavours as a garage MC around Birmingham in the late 90's, Jayson's tastes evolved over the years and he found support in the form of the legendary Mr G, who took on Jayson as part of the Phoenix G family with his 2016 EP, 'Unfamiliar Territories.' It was this, and 2 further releases on Don't Be Afraid (@dontbeafraid), that brought Jay to our attention here at 2Sox HQ. From then on, we have thoroughly enjoyed all his output; from other tracks to a plethora of flawless mixes.

We were chuffed when Jayson accepted the offer of heading DTS and even more chuffed when he delivered this quite perfect hour of deepness.

A slow and introspective set with echoes of downtempo from Paul Thompson @wella, with which he opens the author's Contemplations series. It took Paul six weeks from the time of the full-scale invasion to become able to listen to music again. He started with slow electronic stuff he used to listen as a kid. It was a kind of comfort blanket. Then Paul created this both quietly mournful and positively hopeful selection.

This one is a bit special. 

When it comes to writing introductory text for mixes we often have a rough idea as to the personality behind the music, however in this case we have absolutely none. Trux is a mysterious persona who has revealed virtually nothing as to his background or roots. The music speaks for itself, a mini LP on Office Recordings emerged back in 2016 and received a nod of the head from the wider electronic music community. A cult classic of sorts with an oddball edge. Now two years ago later Trux is back, a new release and a new channel. 

"Orbiter" is forthcoming on abstract imprint Avenue 66. 

Trux has very kindly recorded a mix for us. No interview.
