Ivan Zoloto (@sotajazz) is a Karelian musician and artist currently based in Barcelona. He runs School of the Arts label and plays drums in the drone band Petrozavodsk named after his hometown. 

Ivan’s mix for Tight is an abstract “recent listening”, style mixtape that has some avant-garde pieces, drone, dub, electronics, a Sonic Youth bootleg, and ends with his brand new solo track ‘Snake Case’.

Tightmix 12 — OJOO GYAL

Yantan Ministry is an experimental composer, live musician and DJ. Their true underground spirit and unconventional music style are reflected in a series of releases including edits pack Attaco, Raw Red Redux released on Swedish label Country Music and debut EP dropped out on Berlin based experimental label Yegorka.

@yantanministry delivers a quintessence of their in-depth, off-beat artistic vision for Tightmix 13: “I’ve been feeling like I’ve been standing on unstable and mutable terrain for a time, shifting this way and that. This is music that together, to me, amounts to a feeling of not knowing things precisely but feeling at home in movement, or in a person’s presence, or in a relation to the world while things dance, in subtle hidden rhythm.”

The first episode of Tightmix series features a Dutch DJ, producer, Artificial Dance label owner Olf van Elden aka @interstellarfunk and his ephemeral, tranquil journey through percussion-heavy soundscapes.

Tightmix 2 features Kyiv’s purveyor of IDM and electro-acoustic experiments Nastya Vogan (@cyclonesslowlyrose). From rhytmically driven 'Sunspot' by Kali Malone to ephemeral 'The disinegration loops,' Nastya delivers a mix of mind-expanding experiences masterfully melting different moods and sonic atmospheres.

Tightmix 2 — Nastya Vogan

@corinmusic is an artist from Melbourne who recently released her first full-length album “Manifest” on Bedouin Records. She calls it her ‘cyberpunk tribute’ and merged the whole previous experience as an artist, her EP series as well as classical education at the Sydney Conservatory in 10 deep mythological tracks. The slowly-moving storyline of Tightmix includes tracks by ssaliva, Scintii, DETENTE tracks and a final copestone "Ihnaemiauimx" by M.E.S.H.

Tightmix 3 — Corin

Сигнал из милиции (roughly translated as ‘The Sound from the Police’ and pronounced as ‘Signal iz Militsii’) is a project of the DJ, collector and Kyiv legend @shcherbyna, also known as Kirpich Soundsystem and Одинокий Пастух 2000, dedicated to the Soviet underground music of 80s and early 90s. Andrey’s collection comprises of obscure funk, jazz, experimental electronics, synth pop, post-rock, new wave, house and trance.

For the new edition of Tightmix, Andrey Shcherbyna prepared a selection of tracks by such significant bands as Gosti iz Buduschego, Species of Fishes, Vzryivateli, Tэtris and many more artists whose tracks have been lost in the ruins of a bygone era.

Tightmix 5 — Signal From Militia

@holysimilaun aka Alberto Bertelli is a Treviso-based multidisciplinary artist. Taking influences from Italian hardcore punk scene, Alberto’s sound exists on a razor’s edge of punchy futuristic electronics and refined minimalistic sounds. 

For the latest edition of Tightmix, Alberto Bertelli takes the same approach. With the right amount of gentle hooks as well as heavy textures delivers a set which seems to be a perfect place to feel ambiguous serenity. 

The tracklist includes productions by Kara-Lis Coverdale, Oli XL, Beatrice Dillon, Pessimist and more.

Tightmix 6 — Holy Similaun

@zulimusic is a moniker of Cairo-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Ahmed El Ghazoly. Over the years, he has been organizing parties in Cairo at club-turned-clubnight VENT. Today he hosts a monthly show on NTS, performs live and DJs sets, and co-runs a the Cairo-based video podcast 'irsh'. His latest LP is called 'Terminal,' and was released on Lee Gamble's label UIQ.

Zolaa (@iamzolaa) is a project of Kyiv-based producer, promoter, DJ and co-curator of National Distortion parties Dima Zolotoverkhy. He has released music on Berlin's FTP, British Seagrave labels, and his forthcoming EP will be out soon on London's EYA Records. Zolaa's podcast for Tight is his first non-dance live set online.

@zalivad is a duet from Beijing, consisting of musician Li Chao and visual artist Aisin-Gioro Yuanjin. Founded in 2003, they had released music mainly themselves, until 2018 when they delivered 'Sky Singing' through the Beijing label @svbkvlt, and then 'Forsaken' on the Amsterdam @knekelhuis.

Over more than ten years of musical practice, Zaliva-D has formed its personal style, which is characterized by dark and mystical energy, as well as a mixture of oriental motifs with a modern deconstructed sound. 

For Tight is 2 takeover, Zaliva-D delivered a live-set full of these ingredients.

Kyiv-based musician Dmitriy Avkesentiev, known as @voin-oruwu, explores the relation of technology, science, and art. Over the last few years, he has released two LPs - 'Big Space Adventure' on Private Persons and 'Etudes From A Starship' on Kvitnu, which featured a compilation of futuristic novels. Today he is one of the most active players of the Ukrainian electronic scene popping up at various events in Kyiv and beyond. For Tight is 2 takeover, he prepared the mix of his tracks and unreleased pieces.

@upsammy is an artist from the Netherlands who has gained worldwide fame thanks to her inventive and dynamic sets of experimental electronics, abstract sounds, classic IDM, drum and bass, techno, and electro. She is an affiliate of such labels as Whities, Nous'klaer, and Die Orakel.

SZTVO is a collaborative project of two Ukrainian producers and Pep Gaffe affiliates, @tofudj and @acid_jordan. For the takeover, they presented some routines from the recent live session. "Packed with sound traces of daring adventures around local terrain, wacky sensations caught on tape carry the listener through the natural habitat of various entities roaming on the way. Open to ridicule, plain and square."

@sasha_tessio is a Kyiv selector and DJ, one of the originators of Krossfingers podcast series. The Krossfingers music collection holds over 170 mixes from both well-known and low-key artists from around the world. Interest in digging for obscure music is well shown in Sasha’s sets, spanning a variety of genres - from house and Italo disco to ambient, post-punk, leftfield and new age.

Mai Nestor (@scoutklas) is a Berlin-based Swedish musician, photographer, and vocalist of the coldwave band Facit. Currently, Mai conducts a show "Is this desire?" on LYL radio, works as a photographer, and frequently performs DJ sets in the German capital and far beyond its borders.

For hybrid live-sets, Kampala-based Morgiana Hz (@karolina_karnacewicz) usually combines 3 turntables, contact microphones, various sensors and crystals scanning with the use of extended vocal techniques and unconventional sounds. Hir commissioned hybrid live/DJ set called "CRYSTAL DROP" is a manifest of free eco-sexuality welcoming to experience divine connection between spirit/s. Ze encourages to experience it with closed eyes or as a background for meditative dance medicine.

@johnobject is a producer and graphic designer based in Kyiv. His two previous works ‘Pre-Heat’ and ‘Heat,’ were released by Bio Future Laboratory. John is pushing his unique take on contemporary electronic music, full of radical experiments with the formula. With a live-set for Tight is 2 takeover, he featured part of his new music from upcoming release as well as music from ‘Heat’ and ‘Pre-Heat’ EPs.

@katarina-gryvul is a composer and violinist from Lviv. Despite being mainly focused on writing modern academic music, last year, she released the album ‘Inside the creatures,’ which became a kind of offshoot in her work and incorporated elements of ambient and experimental electronics. Katarina presented the album and some new material as part of the takeover.

@gabbermodusoperandi is a duo from Indonesia who is experimenting with gabber, Chicago footwork, grindcore, noise, and the Indonesian genres of dangdut koplo and jathilan. Kasimyn and Ican Harem, the founders of the project, released two full-length releases ‘PUXXXIMAXXX’ on Yes No Wave Music and ‘HOXXXYA’ on SVBKVLT. Over the past year, the duo has performed at Unsound, CTM, Nyege Nyege. 
 
For Tight Is 2 takeover, they provided archived recording of the live show “Trance against the machine" originally performed at  Soft Center in Sydney. Gabber Modus Operandi are questioning the mystification of trance music and the role of technology in this process.

Jay Glass Dubs (@aylassubs) is the pseudonym of Greek composer, sound artist and core member of the Bokeh Versions squad Dimitris Papadatos. As a part of Tight is 2 Takeover, he presented the mix under the alias Wild Terrier - a quasi band consisting of vocalists, tenor saxophonists, and upright bass. Wild Terrier is about limitations and an attempt to turn the mix into live, combining his own productions with snippets of other musicians.

French producer Emma DJ (@emmadeejayy) curates the “Schumacher” show on LYL radio, actively releases his own music, and organizes acclaimed Fusion Mes Couilles parties. Both in production and events, Emma DJ's efforts are aimed at rethinking club music, creating new forms and ways of perceiving it.

Dj Diaki is Diaki Kone, a balani show DJ, and radio animator in Sanakoroba, Mali. He recently debuted on @nyege-nyege-tapes with his album ‘Balani Fou.’ His work is a mix of rumbling drums and national motifs, as well as a definite illustration of a phenomenon such as balani show, for which he is considered to be one of the founders of the genre. This African music that originated a couple of decades ago during parties on the streets of Mali with the tempo up to 170 BPM.

@hadji-hajj is a French artist and composer who recently debuted on the @bfdmrec. He is a co-founder of Dawn, member of Schnell Records, which develops the concept of Dadaism in  music, and host of Souffrance FM on LYL Radio, that is built around contemporary musical movements, from trap to post-internet experimentations and futuristic beats. 

For the Tightmix series, Hajj has prepared a story with "different colors and moods," which combines the soundtrack from anime 'Perfect Sadness' by Masahiro Ikumi, eerie screams from 'Crushed' by Ronce, French hip-hop from Freeze Corleone, grime by Big Shot, jungle from Dom Perignon & Djin and dub by Systemwide - all variety of genres that fully reflect the artist's vision of modern music.

Tightmix 7 — Hajj

Known for creating hybrid club tracks and mixes with a blend of French hip-hop, hardcore, and reggaeton, Marseille-based DJ and producer @moesha13officiel connects the dots between different contexts, moods and sound textures. 

In the new Tightmix, Moesha 13 leaps between reggaeton, bass-heavy tunes and progressive experimental sounds with the tracks by Kablam, Jay Mitta, Crystallmess, Sarah Davachi and more.

Tadleeh (@user-939167710) is a project by India born, Milan based artist Hazina Francia. She previously released music as Petit Singe on @haunter-records-1. Last year, Tadleeh debuted on the Berlin label @Yegorkaberlin with a mini-album Ego Will Collapse, which leans towards "heavy" club sound, evoking madness and the state of chaos, and features remixes from Crystallmess and Slickback.

Gael is a project by artist @gaelabakarova, a native of Dagestan who recently moved to Kyiv after a long stay in Odessa, where she participated in various music initiatives, taught DJing, and organized music events.

Gael's Tightmix 10 includes works by experimental producers in various fields: industrial sound master Anna Funk Damage, versatile Frenchman Emma DJ, AIR LQD, whose track was recently featured in the Metaphore Collectif compilation, and many other producers exploring the darkwave, slow and mediative rhythms.
