First Episode of the Akashic Records Podcast Series from label owner The Sixth Sense.

For this first podcast of the series i recorded liberation through rythm.

The approach was to keep it very minimalistic and keep the emphasis on the continuing groove. 

The opening is a bit slower and lower in intensity with more elements that bring you back to the origins of rythms. These tribal sounds go back to the very roots of where music began. 

Later in the set the momentum starts building and more hypnotic elements are added. The rythm keeps flowing as the foundation of this set.

Liberation through rythm

For this new podcast i tried to create the ambience of the start of the night. At the beginning of a night the tempo and intensity is lower.

I opened the set a little slower with some ambient and moved that in to some breakbeat and low intensity tracks. The momentum keeps building as the music keeps playing.

Lower bpm’s don’t have to feel slow. If you implement the right drive and intensity it doesn’t feel slow. When playing lower bpm’s there is more room for interesting layers without overcrowding the mix.
