Euca (Komorebi Music Festival, @peakbeatsoundsystem )

co-founder and resident DJ of the Komorebi Music Festival, member of Peakbeat.
From a vinyl shop in Genoa to multiple events in Milan, his musical journey evolves without losing the focus and what music if for him: a key that can open our minds to different worlds, a neverending source of knowledge, a daily escape. 
A polyphonic timbre is what allows Euca to be so chameleonic with his sets: ranging from ambient to the most cryptic and refined techno, he never loses his sonic origins which reside in the composers and producers of all times.

Agustin aka Menta is the manager and resident DJ of Barcelona's Sala Recreo & Bar. He co-founded projects such as Ravinguda, in Buenos Aires, or Marcha Registrada and Disonante in Barcelona. He is currently curating X-Cave, a cycle of events with an experimental touch.

As an artist, he loves analog. He is a curious digger in continuous movement, always exploring new genres and sounds to collect and make his vinyl collection grow. His sets often blend soft grooves with unusual rhythms and fine melodies with strange harmonics.

TILECT with #06 Menta (vinyl-only)

After witnessing one of their sets at Amsterdam institution @breakfast-club-music-1 last year, we felt an instant urge to invite Caim (@caim-records) to our mix series.

While Caim is a recent project, its members Tommy Kornuijt and Mark Antoni have been active in Amsterdam’s scene for years as independent DJ’s, most notably with their residency for the Breakfast Club where they have become known for extended after-hour sets. Last summer they released a first EP on their self-titled label Caim Records, with a second release scheduled for early 2019.

Our first mix of 2019 by Caim is a perfect reflection of their sound: Timeless and with a hypnotizing groove, it finely treads the line between organic techno and rolling breaks.

ーこのミックスはどこで録音したものですか？
 
新潟県で開催されたLabyrinth festival 2009の３時間セットの中の一部だよ。レコーディングしてくれたイベントクルーに感謝しているよ。
 

ーミックスに自身の曲を使用していますか？

いや僕らの曲は使っていない。僕らの好きなレコードと、あとは友人からのアンリリーストラックだよ。
 
 
ーこのミックスのコンセプト、またはアイデアを教えてください。
 
僕らの後に控えるDonnacha Costelloのアンビエントセットにお客さんを繋ぐため、出だしはゆっくりと上げていき、テクノのよりダークな部分を開拓しつつ、終わりはダウンビート・アンビエントでゆっくりと着地させた。  お客さんと会場のお陰で、僕らとても良いインスピレーションを貰えたよ。  僕らは大自然の中で、本当にエレクトロニック・ミュージックが好きな日本人とインターナショナルなクラウドと一体になったよ。  だからあとはもう流れるままにやるだけ。  ダンスフロアから見える顔の表情や笑顔を見ながら、僕らのフィーリングと感情に従うだけ…レコードバックからレコードが勝手に飛び出すようにして自然と選曲したよ。ただ単純にすばらしかった。
 
―近況と最近の活動について教えてください。

今 僕らはナポリにある小さなホームスタジオで数曲制作をしている。僕らが作っている曲はそれぞれ本当に違う個性があるんだ。僕らがエレクトロニック・ミュー ジック好きとして今日までに受けたそれぞれ違う影響によるそれぞれ違ったスタイルだ。できればこの何曲かが将来リリースされることを望んでいるよ。
 
 
―今後の活動予定を教えてください。
 
実はもっとギグ数を増やしたいんだよね。僕らが好きな音楽をプレイする機会を作ることが、常に良いインスピレーションを保てる唯一の方法なんだ。残念ながら近い将来僕らは町から離れてしまうかもしれないけど。ここのクラブシーンは結構大人しいから、もっと音作りと出演回数を保持できる場所を探そうと思っているよ。

Noods Radio-Freerotation Takeover 29/03/2020 - Steevio

It is a natural process to end something, so that there is room for new things to emerge. After releasing 39 FIBER Podcasts over a period of almost 10 years we arrived at number 40; the final release in this series.

For the closing piece, we asked vinyl connoisseur and Freerotation Festival resident Alex Downey to record a grand finale. And so he did… In three hours Alex will take you through the depths of his record collection. That says a lot when you know that he operates a warehouse stocked floor to ceiling with vinyl.
