When you travel in Colombia, watch out that you don’t turn into a Papaya tree. Papaya trees are amazing, once they start bearing fruit, they never stop. Year round. For the rest of their lives. 

The problem is that other people will eat the fruit, the tree itself just has to keep on giving.

This was a warning I got from my new friends in my first week in Cali. I wrote the song one night after 4 hours of sleep on a Banana ‘mattress’ and it’s mostly made up of phrases I learned from “Super Holly” a YouTuber with an amazing channel that teaches Spanish to English speakers and English to Spanish speakers. My Colombian friends approved, so here is my song. 


Please note that I am still struggling with ordering a meal in a restaurant or asking for directions.
 But I know not to give Papaya to those who expect me to grow roots and turn into a tree.
