bulletproof warehouse set for your gear bag. kicking off the a-side is »once again« by stuttgart's
jakob mäder. known for his eclectic blend of ambient, disco, house and techno, mäder crafts a
heavy opener boosted by a propulsive rhythm, seamlessly melding forceful chords with swirling
acid echoes. »tick« by bristol-based fella thrilogy screws down the force and untwines the
groove with a more mellow, bass-driven foundation and intricate percussive patterns to a subtle
yet weighty synth journey through space and time. flipping to the b-side, »back on back« by
renowned duo decent rides instantly slaps your face and unfolds its raw energy with a stomping
infectious vibe urging forward unchecked. supplemented by delicate vocal rollbacks this guy’s a
real peak-time pusher. rounding out the little concrete jungle voyage, »groove got me« by
vienna’s moff & tarkin proves the name’s the product. A massive breakbeat blast tenderly
detailed and beautifully arranged builds up to a complex raw and punchy climax leaving no

Frankfurt’s Chiwax has been responsible for some heavyweight releases by Ron Trent, Gemini, DJ Deeon, Ian Pooley, Boo Williams, Felipe Gordon and Jasper James. For the much-respected labels next release it welcomes Glasgow underground bubbler Jasper James back to the fold with his highly infectious ‘House It Up EP’. Since making his debut on Optimo Trax eleven years ago, James has notched up releases on some suitably impressive labels, including Steel City Dance Discs, ESP Institute and most recently NO ART.
 
On ‘House It Up’ the Glaswegian producers return visit to Chiwax comes via an EP that showcases the depth and variety of his solid house influences. Check first 'No Metronome', a dusty, thickset, and percussion-rich chunk of muscular deep house that reminds us a little of the great Kerri Chandler, before admiring the retro-futurist Chicago jack-track that is 'House It Up'. Over on side B, 'Mission 770' is a lightly dubbed-out chunk of peak-time deep house hypnotism and 'Do You Play House' sounds like 'French Kiss'-era Lil Louis fused with the sweat-soaked energy of Sound Factory era Danny Tenaglia and the Junior Vasquez productions.

J. Koen’s sound blends House with influences from jazz, funk, disco, and soul. This release is a refined take on deep house, capturing J. Koen’s artistic vision while staying true to his eclectic influences.

Alongside his trademark sound, Till von Sein exudes an aura of noble grandeur mixed with the genuine enthusiasm of a child with a favourite toy when he's busy in the DJ booth. But  Tilly’s toy, which in this case is house and its countless derivatives, won’t ever end up forgotten in the corner. Long after the wrapping paper has been thrown away, what Till loves has yet to lose its magic. For von Sein, the sound of an 808 clap triggers a state of ecstasy, which in his hands emerges as pure euphoria on the dance floor. Time and again, his thumping transitions and heart-racing sets send listeners into overdrive, revealing the very core of house, soul and techno, while hitting on just what makes these genres so exciting.

Despite his intimate knowledge of the industry, which might allow him to slip easily into a been-there-done-that attitude, Till von Sein shows non-stop enthusiasm. For the last ten years, he has run the internationally active Clique Bookings at the side of Claudia Marquardt. More recently, his work as a producer has grown to encompass a vast catalogue of releases on labels such as Suol, Dirt Crew and Supplement Facts. He has collaborated with artists such as Tigerskin, Aera, Chopstick and Catz’n’Dogz, and his DJ work has long been a fixture in the international club scene. After his 2011 solo album "#LTD" (Suol), von Sein enjoyed a fully booked calendar and successful tour through South Africa, Japan, USA and Europe. He continues to ride a wave of success. In 2013, he released his personal contribution to the Suol Mates mix series, and further EP releases are in the works. Upcoming projects for 2014 include a new solo album and a project with producer and friend Tigerskin.
