Light Bulb Moment

Radio telescopes around the world receive a range of intense radio signals. After studying the data, scientists from different countries unanimously exclude the possibility of interference caused by cosmic noise. The signals arrive in a logical order at 1420 MHz (the frequency of neutral hydrogen atoms). At an international meeting of astrophysicists, the artificial origin of the signals is finally confirmed, and it is announced that the signals came from the KOI-3010 star system, located at a distance of 1213 light years from the Sun. Such a distance would create an obstacle to a response signal, which leads scientists to believe that the civilization sending the signal must surpass humanity in technological development by many hundreds and possibly thousands of years.

Radio signals continue to arrive every year for seven years. During this time, all attempts to decode the signal fail.

More and more countries stop fighting wars and start focusing on developing common international space technologies. For the first time, something is connecting people from around the world, regardless of nationality, culture, or religion. They become increasingly less focused on their own state and more deeply concerned about the planet as a whole. Fear of the unknown is pacifying human behavior.

Despite enormous technological developments, the meaning of the messages remains unclear for hundreds of years. However, after studying the history of their ancestors during the first years of receiving the radio signals, scientists note that humanity, on the verge of self-destruction, radically changed its attitude towards the world around it. Wars and poverty started to end, the economic balance between countries began to stabilize, and more and more people gained access to education. Humanity learned to live in harmony with nature.

Perhaps this was the meaning of the messages, thanks to which people have managed to move to intelligent civilization’s next stage of development...

... but, honestly, my + Rainer's (UAP) How Loud Is No Sound is REALLY catchy, REALLY vibey, and REALLY synthy. We had so much fun with this one, and the video was probably the hardest to put together we've ever done!! (didn't really expect that before we started). I really hope you’ll like it. Be warned, though – you might find yourself humming it for the rest of the week ;-)

Monsters is a 2010 British science fiction monster film written and directed by Gareth Edwards in his feature film directorial debut. Edwards also served as the cinematographer, production designer, and visual effects artist. Monsters takes place years after a NASA probe crash in Mexico which led to the sudden appearance of giant tentacled monsters. It follows Andrew Kaulder (Scoot McNairy), an American photojournalist tasked with escorting his employer's daughter Samantha Wynden (Whitney Able) back to the US by crossing through Mexico's "Infected Zone" where the creatures reside.

Edwards conceived the idea for the film after seeing fishermen attempt to bring a creature in with a net, and imagining a monster inside. He pitched the idea to Vertigo Films, who suggested he watch In Search of a Midnight Kiss, a low-budget film starring McNairy. Edwards cast McNairy and Able in the lead roles. Principal photography lasted three weeks and had a production crew of six people. Filming took place in five countries, and many locations were used without permission. Most of the extras were people who were at these locations during filming and were persuaded to act in it; all of their dialogue was improvised, and Edwards provided outlines of the primary plot points.

Monsters premiered at South by Southwest on 13 March 2010. Hours later, Magnet Releasing acquired the rights to distribute it in North America. It had a limited release there, beginning on 29 October 2010, followed by a theatrical release in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2010. The film received generally positive reviews and was a box office success, grossing US$ 4.2 million against a budget of less than $500,000. Monsters: Dark Continent, a sequel, was released in the UK on 1 May 2015.
