In preparation for my Feminist Fight Day gig at Sisy, I took a dive into the swamp of 7 years of wisdom handed down to me. Unasked, of course.

Melodic house is not my thing, I like it straight and hard (pehehe, if you know what I mean). Now it's too dark. I expected you to play softer, I expected you to play feminine. Less vocals. No, more vocals, we want to sing along. Too much breakbeat. Too colourful. OMG definitely don't be artsy. No one books the artsy girl. Hey, you should listen to that one male DJ, he plays nice bangers. But not too many bangers. Can you play that banger again? Speaking of bangers, who did you bang that you're allowed to play here? Haha, just joking, but no for real, who? Why aren't you wearing a bra? Why are you wearing a bra? Show what you've got. But also be a feminist. Be hot AND political. Speak up... but not against my boy, he didn't mean it that way, you misunderstood. Stand up for other women... but not for those women, they are trouble, you don't want to be blacklisted. Please don't get drunk backstage again. Be more professional. Why are you so serious? Smile! :) Why are you so angry?"

I am angry. A really angry woman. I've decided to let it out more. And I'm learning to ignore those voices. Let them. Fuck it.

Following 2013´s Love in the Night comes a 12” of quite a different hue. Colour Negatives collects three brand new tracks from the Digitalo founder. The late night rave funk session of “Fujicolor Pro 400H” spikes and spins on beams of concentrated energy. Those same infectious hooks dawn into the flip. “Agfachrome RSX II” premiered here, is bright, clean and joy filled ; Skatebård delivering pure goodness to nurture any bodies beginning to flag. Paranoia and the break of day enters with “Kodak Portra 800”, a minimal two stepping demon that cuts like vinegar. Shape shifting synthesizer sounds from an artist who simply ignores genres.

Brooklyn's HOMAGE returns with its eight release this May, the vinylonly Stride EP from Demi Riquísimo made up of three Disco infused House cuts. 
The UK’s producer has been gaining traction over the past few years via a run of releases on his own Semi Delicious imprint as well as remixes for the likes of Chromeo, Elder Island, and HiFi Sean. Here though we see him deliver his first original EP outside of his own label, joining the roster of New York’s HOMAGE, an imprint known for nurturing and exposing rising talent from across the globe even in its relatively early stages itself. 
"Makossa" leads the release with a sun-drenched House feel, fusing a bumpy bass line, resonant synth licks, and swirling vocal chants alongside an organic drum groove before the latter stages ease in a bubbling arpeggio line and emotive string sequences.
