Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, @ramirodrisdale began his musical career at the age of 8, playing instruments such as the guitar and piano, among others. Some time later, Ramiro began to enjoy electronic music artists. Names like Hernán Cattaneo, Lee Burridge and Nick Warren were his main influences in this area. Which led to Ramiro starting his career in the world of music production in 2019. Their productions have warm nuances, solid rhythms, organic and synthesized melodies, which transmit a traveling and uplifting atmosphere. His music has been released on labels such as Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream, Sudbeat, and The Soundgarden, among others. In a short time, his songs had the support of renowned artists, such as Lee Burridge, Hernán Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Tony McGuinness, Jimi Jules and more.

Born and raised in the historic city of Buenos Aires, Fede Pals is a progressive house DJ and producer currently based in the city of Mallorca. Fede has been honing his DJ skills for several years, not only in his hometown but also in countries as diverse as Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. His mixes defy genre boundaries, seamlessly transitioning between downtempo, electronica, deep house, organic house, and progressive. Hello and welcome to Il Modo's Exclusive Series for May 2024 with the wonderful Chris Cargo.  

An artist with a long, rich and varied history, Chris Cargo has been at the forefront of the underground dance music scene for over 30 years. A career that began in the 1990s has seen the UK star carve out a sizeable niche with his distinctive blend of progressive, deep and melodic house, resulting in over 200 production credits for some of the finest modern imprints and a DJ touring schedule that has seen Chris reach all corners of the globe.

No stranger to working with the biggest event organisers and brands, Chris’ work behind the decks has seen him tour across the continents with a variety of leading global brands as China, as the USA and South America have all played host to his free-flowing and immaculately crafted sets. To that end, it is no surprise to see Chris play to packed clubs and festivals in over 60 countries and a century of cities with his trademark sound – from France to the Netherlands and Germany to Malaysia, Mexico and Sweden, Chris Cargo has continued to enrapture audiences with an innate understanding of what makes a dancefloor coalesce in unified movement.

Contemporaneously, a stellar production career has seen Chris reach even wider audiences as his music appeared on such celebrated compilation series by Renaissance, Global Underground and Carl Cox’s Intec. Regular plays on BBC Radio 1 and appearances in MixMag and DJ Magazine have further served to cement a glowing reputation. Still able to appear in the upper echelons of the Beatport chart on a regular basis, including two HYPE number ones, a plethora of releases over the past 5 years have seen success on Paul Thomas’ renowned UV, Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and D-Nox & Beckers influential Sprout plus official remixes of classic tracks ‘Stella’ from Jam & Spoon and ‘Western Approaches’ by Pako & Frederik. Moreover, it is with his own If You Wait imprint that Chris Cargo has celebrated almost a half century of credits as he uses the UK label as a vehicle for his own production work, in addition to celebrating myriad established and up and coming artists. Able to use If You Wait to showcase his own original music, March 2022 was a landmark moment as Chris released his 11-track, “Resistance” album to widespread critical acclaim.

In the early 90’s Peter falls in love with electronic music as escapism from his troubled and abusive childhood. Underground electronic music was new, exciting and Peter’s rebellious soul was soon captivated. His love for music has been constant ever since.

Headphones and listening excessively to loud music not only served its purpose of exclusion from the world, but this was the beginning of his musical journey. After listening to single tracks, he soon moved on to DJ sets, as the long journeys and the artistic freedom that characterized these were something he could strongly relate to.

This was when he started his vast and multi-genre vinyl collection and soon after moved on to playing and mixing these. He found extreme joy in music and started to build his own world which orbited around it. Mixing different genres was euphoric, he became a fanatic collector and a passionate disc jockey.

His sets are reflections of his current state of mind and he often improvises when in the booth to spice it up. He is always lost in the moment and instantly connects with the crowd. The music is a manifestation of Peter’s emotions.

He favors extended sets, relishing the chance to truly exhibit his talent and deliver captivating mixes across a spectrum of house music genres. He's a versatile house DJ, adept at navigating various styles within the genre. His preference leans towards emotionally charged yet dynamic house music, seamlessly blending deep house, progressive house, and organic house. Occasionally, he infuses melodic elements to sustain the dancefloor's energy.

He has dedicated over 20 years of his life to electronic music and as a result, now manages three labels plus the Truesounds Music Promotion and Management. Hard work finally paid off.

He is more of a DJ but recently started to focus on production as well. His own releases are created in collaboration with co-producers and sounds engineers.

DHTM Mix Series 078 - Peter Makto

Tim Andresen is the label owner of What Happens and Savoir Faire Musique. He is also the co-owner of Culture Box widely regarded Denmark’s leading electronic music venue. But what really brought him to the limelight was his consistent output of production and DJ sets.

Driven by the moments of inspiration, Tim follows his dreams through talent and hard work. He is a musician who enjoys all aspects of writing, production, engineering and arrangement of his own records. His portfolio of approximately 250 tracks and remixes features work for Tenampa Recordings, Ready Mix Records, Re:FreshYourMind, Younan Music and of course his own labels What Happens and Savoir Faire Musique. In the early days of his studio era, he also released as half part of Professional Losers, dubbed “the next big Danish housers” by iDJ Magazine after a string of successful vinyl releases on Southern Fried Records and personally being asked to remix by Norman Cook (the track entered at #1 on the UK Buzz Chart).

Tim’s DJ sets are rooted in house ranging from deep grooves through to lush sounds and dreamy soundscapes. He incorporates everything from techno to electronica to manifest his mood of sound, often adding new layers and sounds to create unique trips that are utterly intriguing. Tim’s talents have not gone unnoticed, and resulted in him landing the “Best DJ” award at Club Awards, and “Most Popular Nordic DJ” by Megamind.

From a background of playing and promoting highly successful club and warehouse parties in the nineties and early 00s, he gained an enviable following. Now an international artist, he has performed in 40 different countries in Europe, Asia and South America. His exquisite taste and technical talent keeps him in demand across the underground club circuit. Since 2005, he has held an ongoing residency at Culture Box – described by Mixmag as “Copenhagen’s pioneering platform for cultivating electronic music”, and rated by Resident Advisor as “one of Europe’s best small clubs”. In 2007 he launched his own legendary What Happens residency. Denmark’s longest running monthly club night, and by many regarded one of Europe’s best club nights in the genre, the events remained hugely popular upon clubbing’s return in 2021. Tim ‘s countless DJ sets have played a crucial role in helping to secure the club its unique position, achieving worldwide recognition and 6 awards for Best Danish Club.

The Night Bazaar wrote “Few DJs can claim to have had as much impact on their local club history as Copenhagen’s Tim Andresen”. Ministry Of Sound considered him “the busiest man in Danish house music” and it’s probably not far from the truth. Known for a decades-long career, his legacy reaches well beyond the boundaries of Scandinavia. Wearing his many hats, he continues to innovate and move things forward led by passion and intensity. His tireless work behind the curtains, including workshops with the team from Pioneer DJ, a mentorship for the Future Female Sounds organisation and guidance and help for the young generation, is something that for him remains equally important. A spirit of curiosity and open-mindedness is an integral part of his approach and Tim says his love for music, more than anything else, is what drives him and keeps him motivated.
